Dallas sends defenseman to Iowa

February 6, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Iowa Chops News Release

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced today that the Dallas Stars have returned on loan defenseman Dan Jancevski (jan-SEHV-skee) to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Iowa Stars.

Selected as the first Captain in Iowa Stars history, Jancevski made his National Hockey League (NHL) debut on Saturday night in St. Louis. The fifth-year professional saw 5:48 of ice-time, recording one blocked shot and no points.

At the time of his recall, Jancevski and forward Toby Petersen were the only two players to appear in every Stars game to date. By missing Iowa's game on Friday night, the longest current ironman streak in the AHL came to an end. Jancevski had appeared in 257 consecutive regular-season games in the AHL, a streak that began on Dec. 14, 2002

The 6-3, 212-pound blueliner has four goals, 13 assists and is second on Iowa with a ‘plus 7' rating through 45 games: 45(4/13/17)+7. He also has a three-game point-streak: 3(1/2/3). Dan was drafted by the Dallas Stars with their second choice, 66th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

NEXT GAME: Iowa Stars are at home for a 7:05 PM game against the Chicago Wolves on Tuesday, February 7th. It's TWO for ONE TUESDAY! Bring a valid Military, College or High School ID and receive two $21 tickets for the price of one! All ticketing information can be obtained by calling 515-23-STARS or by visiting iowastarshockey.com.
