In A Nutshell

Utah hosts Alaska Wednesday and Friday wrapping up their four-game home stand. After this week, the Grizzlies have just two home games left before the playoffs.

Attendance Watch

Friday night*s E-Center crowd of 6,324 was the second largest crowd in the ECHL that evening. Las Vegas, on *Dick Cheney Hunting Vest Night," had an announced crowd of 6,677.

Last Second Trade

Tuesday, less than a day before the ECHL*s trade deadline, Utah acquired forward Joe Dusbabek and 6-foot-7 defenseman Brent Henley from the Phoenix RoadRunners in exchange for future considerations. The two players have a combined total of 44 playoff games during their careers.

If You Can*t Beat Him*.

Joe Dusbabek scored a shorthanded goal, which also turned out to be the game-winner, versus the Grizzlies October 21st at the E-Center as the RoadRunners spoiled Utah*s ECHL debut, 4-2.

Sizing Them Up

Following Tuesday*s trade with the RoadRunners, Utah now has three defensemen six-foot-six or taller. Brent Henley (6*7*), Ian Forbes (6*6*) and Chad Starling (6*6*.)

New Since Training Camp

Since the first week of the season, Utah made five major trades. ECHL All-Stars James Laux and Scott Basiuk, the team*s leading scorer Ryan Kinasewich, Barret Ehgoetz, Colt King, Ed Hill, Treavor Peterson, Eric Nelson, Joe Dusbabek and Brent Henley have all been acquired since Utah broke training camp. Trevor Baker was a mid-season signing of the Grizzlies.

Adding Up The PIMS

Entering the weekend, the Grizzlies had the top three ECHL players in terms of penalty minutes (Brad Herauf, Brent Henley and Colt King.) However, during Friday*s game with Idaho, the Steelheads Greg Hornby logged enough time in the penalty box to move past King and into third place.

Going Back To Las Vegas On Business

Saturday, the Grizzlies return to Las Vegas where they are 2-1 on the year versus the 47-11-6 Wranglers. At the Orleans Arena in their last two, the Grizzlies are averaging 5.5 goals per game. Las Vegas is allowing just 2.52 goals per game overall this season.

Scoring... A Problem

In March, Utah has scored six goals in five games and been shutout twice. In March, Alfie Michaud has a 2.29 GAA, but is 0-2-1.

Scoring On Alaska At Home* Not A Problem

This season at the E-Center, the Grizzlies are averaging 3.33 goals per game versus Alaska, who on the year is allowing just 2.10 goals per game overall.

All Good Things*

Wednesday, Utah*s season-high six-game home winning streak came to an end in a 4-3 defeat to Alaska.
