INFERNO COACH'S SHOW: Wednesday, March 22nd at 7pm. Newcomer Chuck Tomes and Goaltender Chris Houle will be our special player guests. Come join us live at The Tap Room, located on Bower Parkway off of Harbison Blvd. The Tap Room is located right next door to the Columbiana Grand Movie Theatre. The Tap Room is home to 50 different beers on tap including root beer. Enjoy their great menu of dinner items, including their Texas Tumbleweed Rolls, Ahi Tuna, Brew Pub Style Roast Beef Sandwich and the Spinach and Portabella Mushroom Sandwich. You can also listen on ESPN 93.1FM from 7pm - 8pm.

COACH'S SHOW GUESTS: Due to contractual obligations between the radio station and Clemson Basketball, our Inferno Coach's Show might be canceled. Depending on the Clemson/Louisville game tonight it will determine if we have a show or not. If Clemson wins, they will play again on Wednesday night and cancel the Inferno Coach's Show. If Clemson loses, the show will go on.

THE WEEK AHEAD

Tuesday, March 21st Inferno vs. Florida Everblades 7:30pm Carolina Coliseum

This is the final game this season between the Everblades and Inferno. The Inferno is 2-3-2 this season against the Everblades. Florida is in second place in the South Division with 83 points (40-19-3).

Friday, March 24th Inferno vs. Augusta Lynx 7:30pm Carolina Coliseum

Augusta is in sixth place in the South Division with 58 points (26-30-6). This is the eighth game between the Lynx and Inferno. Columbia is 3-3-1 against Augusta this season.

Saturday, March 25th Inferno @ Augusta Lynx 7:05pm Richmond Cty. Col.

This is the final game between the Inferno and Lynx this season.

LAST WEEK Tuesday, March 14th Inferno 2 FLORIDA 6

The Florida Everblades scored six straight goals as they defeat the Columbia Inferno 6-2. Columbia came out strong in the first period, scoring two power play goals. Jeff Miles scored at 5:30 with assists to Mike Stathopoulos and Chris Busby. Travis Lisabeth gave the Inferno a 2-0 lead, on a 5-on-3 advantage, as he nets his 17th goal of the season with help from Miles and Brandon Nolan. Florida scored at 1:39 and 19:39 of the second period to tie the game at two a piece. Chris Lee and Martin Lojek each had a goal for the Everblades. Kevin Bergin gave the Everblades a 3-2 lead at 9:16 of the third period as he went backdoor on Inferno goaltender Chris Houle. Bellisimo scored the next two goals for the Everblades. John Ronan added the sixth goal for Florida with 19 seconds left in the game.

Friday, March 17th Inferno 3 CHARLOTTE 4 (Shootout)

A third period rally was not enough for the Inferno as they lose in a shootout to the Charlotte Checkers 4-3. The Inferno gained one important point in the South Division.The only scoring in the first period came from Charlotte as they scored at 10:13. The Checkers added their second goal to go up 2-0 at 11:18 of the second period. At 17:17, Mike Stathopoulos netted his 23rd goal of the season as he took a slap shot from the top of the circle and beat goaltender Chris Holt five hole. Charlotte went up 3-1 at 4:45 of the third period with a goal by Juris Stals. Jason Reimer tapped in a Jeff Miles pass at 5:21 to bring the Inferno back to within one goal. Brandon Nolan tied the game at 6:26 as he cut to the net and made a quick move to his backhand and slid the puck under the goalies pads. After a scoreless overtime period, the Inferno scored one to Charlotte's two goals in the shootout. The Inferno outshot the Checkers 44-23.

Saturday, March 18th INFERNO 7 Greenville 2

The Columbia Inferno exploded for five goals in the second period to come back from a 2-1 deficit and defeat the Greenville Grrrowl, 7-3, Saturday night at the Carolina Coliseum. Forward Jeff Miles led the Inferno with five points (2g-3a) and forward F.P. Guenette added one goal and three assists. Greenville opened the scoring at 1:11 of the first period on a goal by Les Haggett before Columbia evened the game with a goal by Grant Jacobsen less than five minutes later at 6:03. Miles passed the puck to Jacobsen behind the net, who then flipped the puck over the goalie's glove. Guenette was awarded an assist on the goal. The Grrrowl took a 2-1 lead into the second period on Jan Vodrazka's power-play slap shot from the point at 17:53. In the second period, the Inferno came out firing and netted the first of five goals at 2:27 after Jacobsen won a face-off in Greenville's zone and pulled the puck back to Miles, whose shot went past a screened Cam Ellsworth. At 3:19 with Columbia shorthanded, Chris Barr's shot from the point found its way into the goal after Dallas Flaman's face-off win. Columbia's third goal of the period came at 14:18 when Guenette knocked down a loose puck into an open net after Jason Reimers's shot from the blue line banged off the post. The Inferno upped the score to 5-1 at 16:22 when Guenette passed the puck from behind the net to a cutting Derek Eastman, who banged a one-timer into the net. Miles also earned an assist on Eastman's goal. Miles then increased Columbia's lead to five goals on a breakaway at 17:33 after picking up the puck from his own goal line from a pass from Flaman. Guenette also had an assist on the goal. Sitting on a 6-2 lead after two periods, Flaman notched a shorthanded goal at 12:28 of the third stanza with an assist to Barr. Greenville's Colin Pepperall cut the Inferno lead to four at 16:49 ended the game's scoring with a final of 7-3.

Sunday, March 19th Inferno 3 SOUTH CAROLINA 4

The South Carolina Stingrays scored a third period goal to take the 4-3 lead and win away from the Columbia Inferno. The Stingrays were on the board first with the first of three penalty shots in tonight's game. Anders Strome scored at 1:49 of the first period as he beat goaltender Chris Houle for a 1-0 lead for the Stingrays. Columbia tied the game on the power play with Brandon Nolan's 19th goal of the season at 5:21. Travis Lisabeth and Jason Reimers had the assists. South Carolina scored two more goals at 7:38 and 10:12 to take the 3-1 lead. Nolan nets his second goal of the night at 14:14 to bring the Inferno back to within a one goal deficit. Jeff Miles continues his point streak as he scored on the power play at 16:23 of the second period with an assist to FP Guenette to tie the game at three a piece. South Carolina capitalized on another power play at Darren Lynch scored the game-winning goal at 11:30 of the third period. The Inferno outshot the Stingrays 43-39. South Carolina was 3-for-6 on the power play and the Inferno went 2-for-4 for the night.
