Tons Of Community Appearances Close Out The Regular Season

SAN DIEGO - As the regular seasons draws to a close, the San Diego Gulls continue to make tons of community appearances. Community involvement remains priority for the players, coaches and front office staff, as they gear up for the playoffs.

Here's an updated list of some of the events the players and staff have attended:

Feb. 10: Gulls players Alex Rogosheske and Kelly Askew along with the Gulls Girls and Baby Gull appeared at NBC 7/39's "Torino Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies Celebration," in Little Italy.

Feb. 12: Alex Rogosheske and Kelly Askew appeared at the San Diego Jewish Academy to help celebrate the opening of the new athletic fields. The Gulls players were at the new roller hockey rink where they talked to children about hockey and gave a skills demonstration.

Feb. 20: The third annual "Dunk-A-Gull" night was held at Dick's Last Resort in downtown San Diego from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event gave fans a chance to soak their favorite Gulls players in a dunk tank with proceeds benefiting United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego County.

Feb. 21: Alex Rogosheske and Darren Clark attended an assembly at St. John's of the Cross Catholic School in Lemon Grove.

Feb. 22: Channel 10 honored Angela Brannon (from partying for a purpose) with a "10 Leadership Award" on the ice at the ipayOne center. Alex Rogosheske, Kelly Askew and Baby Gull were all present to help honor Angela.

Mar. 1: Baby Gull appeared at Oak Park Elementary School.

Mar. 2: Doug MacIver and Mark Wires celebrated "Literacy Week" by reading to a classroom at Ross Elementary School.

Mar. 5: The Gulls held their 15th annual "Tip-A-Gull" event from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Dick's Last Resort, located in the Gaslamp district of downtown San Diego. Gulls players strapped on their aprons and served as waiters and bartenders and assisted with a live auction. Proceeds from the event were donated to United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego.

Here's a list of events that the Gulls will be participating in during the next few weeks. (There will be additions so make sure you check out the Gulls' web site (www.sandiegogulls.com) for updates.

Mar. 21: Gulls players will appear at an assembly at Birney Elementary School in University Heights.

Mar. 21: The Gulls will hold their fourth annual "Bowling Night" at Kearny Mesa Bowl from 9:30p.m to midnight. Gulls fans will have the opportunity to bowl with their favorite players and win exciting prizes in a silent auction. Proceeds from the event will benefit youth hockey in San Diego

Mar. 23: Gulls players appear at an assembly at Ross Elementary School.
