Salmon Kings sign BCHL all-star

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings announced today the signing of West Vancouver native, Elias Godoy.

Godoy, 25, began his junior career with the Burnaby Bulldogs (BCHL) in 2000 and scored 35 points (17 goals, 18 assists) in 53 games. The 5-foot-11, 180 lb Forward skated with the Trail Smoke Eaters (BCHL) in 2001-2002 and was named to the BCHL All Star Game, while leading the team in scoring with 60 points (25 goals, 35 assists) in 39 games.

Godoy played four seasons with the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass-Lowell) River Hawks, an NCAA Division II school, and tallied 120 points (42 goals, 78 assists) in 132 games. In his Freshman year, he posted 14 points (7 goals, 7 assists) in 27 games, and in his Sophomore year he led the team in scoring with 41 points (18 goals, 23 assists) in 40 games.

In his senior tour in 2005-2006, Godoy was fourth in scoring on the team with 26 points (5 goals, 21 assists) in 31 games.

"I am excited about Elias joining our club," said Dan Belisle, V.P. of Hockey Operations and General Manager, "All the scouting reports I have received indicate he will develop into a good professional player. We welcome Elias to our team."

Godoy joins the Salmon Kings in his professional debut while they are on the road in Phoenix.
