(Toledo, OH) - Evan Rankin scored twice to go along with Jake Paterson's first career shutout as Toledo beat Brampton 4-0 Friday night at the Huntington Center. Toledo has an overall record of 25-11-1-3 and 12-5-0-1 at home. Toledo hosts Fort Wayne Saturday night.

At 9:22 of the first period Evan Rankin deflected the blue line shot of Joel Chouinard for his 70th goal in his Walleye career which sets a new career goal scoring mark in Walleye history. He breaks the old record of 69 from Kyle Rogers. Defenseman Beau Schmitz picked up his 3rd goal of the year at 11:56 of the period when he tapped in a rebound.

Toledo continued the pressure into the second as Joel Chouinard (6th) found the back of the net on the power play when his shot went deflecting past Brampton goaltender Jordan Ruby. Rankin picked up his second goal of the game at 18:02 of the second when he wristed in a shot for his 6th goal of the year.

Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jake Paterson stopped all 28 shots he faced for his first professional shutout and has a record of 6-7-1-1 on the season. Shane Berschbach extended his point streak to ten consecutive games (7G, 11A) with two assists tonight which tied him with Anthony Luciani for the longest point streak in Walleye history. Luciani's came from October 18 through November 16, 2014. A.J. Jenks also continued his assist streak that has reached eight consecutive games (9 total). Toledo out shot Brampton 29-28 in the game.
