San Antonio Rampage News Release
RAMPAGE 2 - HOUSTON 1 (OT): Stephan Veilleux gave the Aeros the early lead, scoring a powerplay goal at 9:34 in the first period after Stephen Weiss was called for boarding at 7:54. With 12:24 left in regulation, Nathan Horton beat Houston goaltender Mark Smith with a fake to the right and a backhand as Smith left the net defenseless. Assisting on Horton's goal was Joel Kwiatkowski, who's original shot was turned away, and Paul Healey. Rampage goalie Travis Scott looked stellar in third period, denying multiple Houston attempts to regain the lead, and eventually forcing overtime. Just 46 seconds into overtime, Horton added his second goal of the goal off a rebound from a Stephen Weiss' shot that hit off of Smith's blocker.
ROCHESTER 4 - RAMPAGE 3 (SOL): Nathan Horton and Stephen Weiss extended their point streak to three games and Paul Healey collected three points Saturday night as the San Antonio Rampage fell to the Rochester Americans 4-3 in a shootout at the SBC Center. Weiss brought the Rampage within one with his fourth goal of the season at 9:06 in the opening period as team captain Healey and Jeff Brown assisted on the play. Horton knotted the game at 2 a-piece just 3:21 in the second period on a power play as Healey collected his second assist on the night, and snapped the Rampage's power-play drought of six games. Healey scored his fourth goal of the season to give the Rampage a 3-2 lead at 9:21 in the third period before defenseman Petr Taticek's goal was disallowed moments later due to a delayed penalty. Rochester's Jason Pominville scored a pair of goals, including the game-tying goal at 11:50 in the final regulation period. He also helped his team get the game-winner in the shootout.
CHICAGO 3 - RAMPAGE 2 (SOL): San Antonio lost their league-leading fourth overtime shootout game of the season on Sunday night against the Chicago Wolves at the SBC Center. Gregory Campbell and Stephen Weiss both tallied both the Rampage and Patrick DesRochers stopped 26 shots in San Antonio's third straight overtime game.
