Pirates Send Ardelan To South Carolina

PORTLAND, ME – Portland Pirates Head Coach Tim Army announced today that defenseman Mark Ardelan has been sent on loan to the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL) by the Portland Pirates of the AHL. Ardelan will join the Stingrays for their next game on Friday against the Florida Everblades at 7:30 p.m.

Ardelan played in one game with the Pirates. He registered one assist in the Pirates 3-2 loss to Worcester this past Sunday.

Before coming to the Pirates, Ardelan played in 21 games with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL, where he scored 4 goals and registered 6 assists.

Ardelan spent the 1999-00 and 2000-01 seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL. There he played a total of 129 games scoring a total of 6 goals and registering 30 assists. In the 2001-02 season, Ardelan played for the Vancouver Giants of the WHL, scoring a total of 8 goals and notching 29 assists. The following season he registered 13 goals and 35 assists for the Giants. He spent the 2003-04 season with the Prince Albert Raiders of the WHL, playing a total of 72 games, scoring 19 goals and registering 54 assists.
