
Penguins recall Fata and Chiodo from Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. â The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today recalled defenseman Drew Fata and goaltender Andy Chiodo from their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers. The club also announced that they have reassigned defenseman Randy Perry to the Nailers.
Fata, 22, was reassigned to Wheeling on November 30 and recorded one assist and 22 penalty minutes in three games with the Nailers. In 13 games with the Penguins this season, he is scoreless with 34 penalty minutes.
The 6'1", 209-pound native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the third round (86TH overall) of the 2001 Entry Draft.
Chiodo, 21, was reassigned to Wheeling on November 30 and appeared in two games with the Nailers, posting a 1-1 record and a 1.94 goals against average. In nine games with the Penguins this season, Chiodo has a 2-5-1 record with a 3.29 goals against average and one shutout.
The 5'11", 194-pound native of Toronto, Ontario was injured during Friday's 3-2 win at Peoria. He is listed as day-to-day with a knee strain.
Chiodo was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the seventh round (199TH overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Perry, 28, was recalled from Wheeling on November 30 and was a healthy scratch in four games for the Penguins. In 16 games with the Nailers this season, Perry has recorded four assists and 12 penalty minutes.
The Penguins (11-6-4-3, 29 points; 3RD -Place, East Division) continue their five game homestand on Friday when they host the Albany River Rats (7-10-4-2, 20 points; 6TH-Place, East Division) at 7:05 p.m. at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza. Approximately 400 tickets are still available for the game.
