Defenseman Andre Lakos continued his strong play this season, recording a season high three points in the Crunch' 6-2 victory over the St. John's Maple Leafs on Saturday night. Lakos has posted an even or plus rating in 20 of his 22 games this season. A native of Vienna, Austria, Lakos has appeared in 22 games this season recording one goal, seven assists and 17 penalty minutes. Originally selected by the New Jersey Devils in the third round, 95th overall, in the 1999 NHL Draft, Lakos has appeared in 199 career AHL games with Albany, Utah and Syracuse, tallying 3 goals, 38 assists and 135 penalty minutes.
OFFENSIVE BREAK THROUGH: The Crunch scored a season high six goals and three power play goals on Saturday night, en route to a 6-2 victory over their North Division rivals St. John's.
GOEHRING TURNS IT AROUND: After losing his first four starts of the season goaltender Karl Goehring won five consecutive games, posting a 1.37 goals against average and a .951 save percentage. A native of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Goehring has appeared in ten games this season, posting a 5-4-0 record with a 2.48 goals against average and a .915 save percentage. Originally signed as a free agent by Columbus on May 7, 2001, Goehring has appeared in 112 career AHL games, all with Syracuse, with a 45-45-13 record and a 2.60 goals against average.
THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS:
BINGHAMTON (OTTAWA SENATORS): The Crunch host Binghamton on Friday, December 10 for the third of eight regular season meetings. Binghamton leads the series 2-0, after defeating the Crunch 4-3 in overtime on Sunday, November 14 at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Center Antoine Vermette leads all players in head-to-head scoring with four points (1g, 3a). Several Crunch players are tied with two points each. Pascal Leclaire appeared in both games for Syracuse, with a 3.95 goals against average and .873 save percentage. Ray Emery (35 saves) and Billy Thompson (23 saves) have split time in net for Binghamton. Lifetime Syracuse is 7-9-2 against Binghamton.
MILWAUKEE (NASHVILLE PREDATORS): Milwaukee visits Syracuse on Saturday, December 11 for the first of two regular season meetings. Left wing Simon Gamache (10g, 17a) leads all Admirals with 27 points. Brian Finley has appeared in 15 games for Milwaukee, posting a 10-4-1, a 1.90 goals against average and .932 save percentage. Lifetime, the Crunch is 1-3-0 against the Admirals.

Crunch To Hold First-Ever DestiNY USA Teddy Bear Toss -- Crunch to Give-Away $1,000 Gift Certificate to Carousel Center on December 18: The Syracuse Crunch, DestiNY USA and UPN 6 announced that they will host the first-ever DestiNY USA Teddy Bear Toss on December 18, with all collected stuffed animals going to benefit the Marines Toys for Tots program.
For each new or gently used stuff animal a fan brings to the War Memorial at Oncenter, beginning at the Crunch's home game on December 4, through the start of the Crunch's December 18 home game, they will receive a raffle ticket, giving them a chance to win a $1,000 gift certificate to Carousel Center, compliments of DestiNY USA.
The raffle drawing for the $1,000 gift certificate to Carousel Center will be held during the second period of the Crunch's December 18 game. The winner must be present at the game to win the gift certificate.
Drop off locations during the December 4, December 10, December 11 and December 17 games will be located at the State Street and Montgomery Street entrances until 7:30 p.m. After the games have begun, fans can drop off their stuffed animals at the Advance Auto Parts Guest Service Center, located on the second floor of the War Memorial. Fans bringing stuffed animals to the December 18 game to toss onto the ice can pick up their raffle tickets at the State Street or Montgomery Street entrances, prior to entering the game. No raffle tickets will be given out once fans have gained entry into the game.
During the first intermission of the December 18 game the Crunch will ask all fans in attendance to âtoss' their new or gently used stuffed animals onto the ice. All collected stuffed animals will benefit the Marines Toys for Tots program.
In addition, any fan that brings a stuffed animal in will have the opportunity to purchase a ticket to the December 18 game for $10 (up to an $8 savings). No phone orders will be accepted â must purchase tickets in person to receive the discount.

Labatt's Celebrity Bartending Series Continues at Tully's: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Labatt's, announced that the Labatt's Celebrity Bartending series will continue on Tuesday, December 7 at Tully's. Crunch players Aaron Johnson, Joe Motzko and Matthias Trattnig will serve as celebrity bartenders at Tully's, on Erie Blvd. from 5 â 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7. All tips generated by the players that night will be donated to Coaches vs. Cancer.

Labatt's Celebrity Bartending at Change of Pace: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Labatt's, announced that the Labatt's Celebrity Bartending series will continue on Wednesday, December 15 at Change of Pace. Crunch players Zenith Komarniski, Jeremy Reich and Mike Pandolfo will serve as celebrity bartenders at Change of Pace from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15. Change of Pace is located on 1802 Grant Blvd. in Syracuse. For directions call (315) 472-4409. All tip generated by the players that night will be donated to the Onondaga Youth Hockey Association.
INJURY UPDATE: Center Jeff Panzer is listed as day-to-day with a knee injury he originally suffered on Sunday, November 14 against Binghamton. He has missed eight games with the injury... Goaltender Pascal Leclaire is expected to miss a week with a groin injury. He has missed two games with the injury... Through 23 games this season, Syracuse has lost 26 man-games due to injuries. Jeff Panzer â 8, Greg Mauldin - 6, Mark Hartigan â 3, Zenith Komarniski â 3, Pascal Leclaire â 2, Raffaele Sannitz â 2, Francois Beauchemin - 1 and Aaron Johnson - 1, represent the Crunch's injury list this season.

CRUNCHABLES: Defenseman Francois Beauchemin is two points shy of 100 in his AHL career... Defenseman Zenith Komarniski and Andre Lakos became the second and third defenseman to score for the Crunch this season, scoring in the first period of Saturday night's game. Prior to their goals, Aaron Johnson was the only Crunch blue-liner to score.
