New York Boulders News Release

Pomona, NY - The New York Boulders led 2-1, 3-2, and eventually 7-3 on Sunday, but couldn't seal the deal, falling 15-7 to the Québec Capitales in the rubber game of their series at Clover Stadium.

Québec (38-13) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning, getting a sacrifice fly from C Arturo De Freitas off LHP Mitchell Senger (ND / 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K), who made his first Frontier League appearance since 2024.

New York (24-25) nosed ahead 2-1 in the bottom half, as 2B Santino Rosso ripped an RBI double and scored on an error.

The Capitales tied the score at 2 in the third, but the Boulders edged ahead again in the bottom half after RF Ryan McCoy stole third base and came home on a throwing error.

Left fielder Ruben Castro had a game-tying RBI single for Québec in the fourth, but the home team answered right back with a run of their own, getting an RBI groundout from SS Austin Dennis.

The Boulders extended their lead to 7-3 in the fifth on a three-run homer by 3B Fritz Genther, who swatted his third big fly of the series.

Center fielder Marc-Antoine Lebreux got the Caps within 7-5 in the seventh inning with a two-run homer, then the visitors' offense erupted for a six-run eighth inning to go back in front, 11-7. LHP Garrett Crowley got the final out in the bottom of the eighth with two men on base, then nailed down his first save after the three-time defending Frontier League champs capped the scoring with a four-spot in the top of the ninth.

Also of note:

* C Jason Agresti extended his franchise-record hitting streak to 25 consecutive games with an eighth inning single

* McCoy's third inning single extended his hitting streak to 21 consecutive games

* Dennis finished the homestand 16-for-26 (.615) and extended his hitting streak to 6 games

After an off-day tomorrow (Monday), the Boulders head to Paterson, New Jersey, to start a split three-game series with the Jackals. First pitch Tuesday morning at Hinchliffe Stadium is scheduled for 11:05am EDT.
