STORM NOTES

* Home Cooking! The Toledo Sports Arena continues to be the greatest home ice advantage in the ECHL. Toledo defeated Dayton 5-4 in a shootout Friday night to improve to 8-1-0 at One Main Street. That start equals the home start of the 1993-94 team that also started 8-1-0 at home. The best 9 game start at home was 9-0-0, done by the 2002-03 Storm that skated perfect through its first 11 home games before suffering a home defeat. Some of the best home starts by Storm teams listed (year is in parenthesis): 7-0-2 (97), 8-1-0 (93), 7-1-1 (94,95,96).

* Road Tripping! This week Toledo begins a stretch in which they will play 7 of the next 9 games away from the friendly confines of the Sports Arena. The Storm are just 1-4-0 on the road this season.

* Power Play! Toledo's Power Play erupted Saturday night against the Dayton Bombers scoring a season high 4 times in 13 opportunities. The PP has also tallied at least once in 5 of the last 7 games (9-52), good for 17.3% over those games. For the season, Toledo has scored 12 power play goals in 111 chances (10.8%), which ranks 24th in the ECHL.

* Penalty Kill! The Penalty Kill Unit has stopped 85 of 102 times they have been shorthanded (83.3%). That ranks 14th among all ECHL teams.
