Fourth Largest Crowd in Condors History for Teddy Bear Toss

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - 8,743 fans packed The Nest on Saturday for the 8th Annual Teddy Bear Toss and the Condors gave them plenty to cheer about as they pounded Alaska, 6-3. It was the 4th largest crowd in franchise history, and the Bakersfield faithful didn't have to wait long to send the fur flying as Sean Venedam opened the scoring early in the first period to start the rout. Over 5,700 stuffed animals were tossed on the ice and collected for donation.

The Condors have three games this week, beginning with a trip to Fresno Tuesday for a 7:00 p.m. game against the Falcons, the first meeting between the rivals this season. Then it's back to The Nest for two more games this weekend, including a rematch with the Falcons and another clash with Long Beach. Friday is Toilet Paper Roll Giveaway and Saturday is Nintendo Wii Giveaway. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., puck drops at 7:00 p.m.

CONDORS 1 vs Alaska 6 (Attendance: 4,515)
The Aces broke open a tight game with five goals in the third and went on to the 6-1 victory. Rane Carnegie had the lone goal for Bakersfield, a power-play goal that put the team ahead a 19:34 of the first. Todd Griffith had an assist to extend his point-scoring streak to five games.

Saturday, Nov. 25:
CONDORS 6 vs Alaska 3 (Attendance: 8,743)
The Condors gained a measure of revenge by thumping the Aces, 6-3, on Teddy Bear Toss Night. Six different Condors scored a goal, and Steve Rodberg came off the injured list and had two assists in his season debut. Jamie Hodson won his 6th game of the season in goal.

Sunday, Nov. 26:
CONDORS 4 at Las Vegas 6 (Attendance: 4,498)
A Bakersfield rally in the third period fell short as the team suffered its first road loss in regulation this season. With the Wranglers leading 5-2 entering the final stanza, power-play goals by Kevin St. Jacques and Brett Lutes pulled the team to within one, but a late goal by Las Vegas sealed it. Lutes finished with two goals and an assist, St. Jacques had a goal and two assists, and Rodberg scored his first of the year.

PLAYER NOTES:

Lutes has five points (3g, 2a) and is +4 in his last two games
St. Jacques has ten points (2g, 8a) in his last six games
Griffith has ten points (6g, 4a) in his first six games since being activated
Rodberg has four points (1g, 3a) in his first two games since coming off the injured list

Tyler Scott was activated from the 3-day IR on Monday, Nov. 27

The Condors have scored eight power-play goals in their last seven games.

The Condors play a pair of home games this weekend. On Friday, Dec. 1st, against the Fresno Falcons, it's Toilet Paper Roll Giveaway, presented by 106.1 KRAB Radio. The first 2,000 adults, 18-and- over, will receive a roll of Fresno Toilet Paper as the Condors wipe out the Falcons.
