
Swanson recalled to Rochester of AHL

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that defenseman Jeremy Swanson has been recalled to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League and that defenseman Franklin MacDonald has been added to the roster from Rochester.
Swanson heads to Rochester having picked up three assists in 16 games with the Everblades this season. The 22-year-old picked up two of his three assists during the Everblades last road trip and leaves the 'Blades with a plus-4 rating and 41 penalty minutes. The trip to the AHL is the third in Swanson's three-year career having also played in San Antonio (2004-05) and Rochester (2005-06). The Red Rock, Ontario native is in his second season with the Everblades and has notched seven points (1g, 6a) in 30 career games with the 'Blades. Overall the former 6th round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2002 has collected 18 points (3g, 15a) in 106 professional games.
MacDonald joins the Everblades after skating in 11 games with the Americans this season. The 21-year-old rookie has collected two assists and 12 PIM this year. The native of Sydney, Nova Scotia completed a three-year career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season by compiling a career high 45 points (12g, 33a) and 129 PIM in 58 games with the Halifax Mooseheads. The 6-foot, 198 pound blue liner amassed 73 points (21g, 52a) in 186 career games with the Mooseheads.
