RoadRunners Deal Dusbabek To Pensacola
November 27, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
Phoenix RoadRunners News Release
PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and the San Antonio Rampage, have traded veteran forward Joe Dusbabek to the Pensacola Ice Pilots in exchange for future considerations.
"Joe has been a tremendous leader and the ultimate team player since his arrival in Phoenix last season, and as he winds down his professional career, I felt that he deserved the opportunity to play every single day," said RoadRunners Head Coach Ron Filion. "Unfortunately, with a surplus of forwards on our roster and the recent addition of Olivier Latendresse from the Coyotes, I knew he wouldn't get that chance here. I wish Joe nothing but continued success in Pensacola and for the duration of his career. He will be missed."
Dusbabek, 28, recorded one goal and six assists in 15 games with the RoadRunners this season. The Fairbault, Minn. native and eighth-year professional leaves Phoenix with 11 goals and 31 points in 64 games with the RoadRunners since the beginning of the 2005-06 season, and 86 goals and 235 points in 378 career games.
The RoadRunners continue their four game homestand as they welcome the Utah Grizzlies to US Airways Center at 7:11 p.m. Tuesday for the opening game of a two-game series. Thursday marks the first Thirsty Thursday of the season presented by Alice Cooper'stown as the RoadRunners and Grizzlies close out the series at 7:11 p.m. from US Airways Center. Head to Cooper'stown following the game, present your RoadRunners' game ticket, collect your special "Thirsty Thursday" cup, and enjoy $2 Budweiser and Bud Light drafts and $2 soda for the rest of the evening. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
Individual game tickets for the 2006-07 regular season start as low $7 in the lower section and can be purchased at the US Airways Center Box Office and at all Ticketmaster outlets including Ticketmaster.com. Information on season tickets, half-season packages, and flex plans are available by calling (602) 462-GOAL.
