November 27, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release
The Fresno Falcons host the first game of the newly created Evil Rivalry as the Evil Bakersfield Condors come to town Tuesday night for a 7pm hockey game at the Save Mart Center. Tuesday's game is a Carl's Jr. Two for Tuesday hockey game with 2 for 1 coupons available at all Carl's Jr. locations. Tuesday's game is also an "Amtrak Battle of the 99" game. The Falcons are the reigning Amtrak Battle of the 99 Champions, an award given to the team with the most points between Stockton, Fresno, Bakersfield and Long Beach.
Last summer when the Evil San Diego Gulls decided to stop playing hockey, Falcons fans were asked to vote on line to determine a new Evil Rival. Fans narrowed it down between Las Vegas and Bakersfield and for obvious reasons, and in a landslide vote, the Bakersfield Condors were voted the New Evil Rival of the Falcons. The Falcons beat Bakersfield in Game 7 of the Pacific Division Finals last May to advance to the National Conference Finals. Fresno and Bakersfield have endured a long standing rivalry on and off the ice. You only need to look at their website and read about this Friday's promotion in Bakersfield when the Falcons come to town: "Friday is the 106.1 KRAB Radio Toilet Paper Roll Giveaway, with the first 2,000 adults 18-and-older receiving a roll of Fresno Falcons toilet paper."
THE FALCONS ARE ENCOURAGING ALL FANS TO BRING "BEAT THE EVIL CONDORS" SIGNS TO THE GAME TUESDAY! THE EVIL CONDORS RETURN TO FRESNO ON DECEMBER 15TH for the American Red Cross Jersey Auction!
On a lighter note, this Saturday, the Falcons host Phoenix for the 7th Annual Toys for Tots Teddy Bear Toss at 7:30pm presented by Gottschalks. All fans are encouraged to bring a brand new Teddy Bear or stuffed animal to the game and when the Falcons score our first goal, toss your bears on to the ice. All stuffed animals and bears will be donated to Toys for Tots. The first 5000 fans at Saturday's game will also receive a free Falcons team photo courtesy of Dumont Printing and the Falcons will be signing free post game autographs.
Tickets for both games are on sale at the Save Mart Center Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations. For more information call the Falcons at 485-PUCK! Fresno Falcons Hockey, the Coolest Game in Town!
