ESTERO, FL - The Florida finished this past week with a 2-1-0 record. The Everblades head into this week's action with a record of 11-5-0 (22 pts, 3rd South Div.).

THIS WEEK (All Times Eastern)

Tuesday, Friday & Saturday, November 27, December 1 & 2 vs. Texas Wildcatters All Games 7:30 p.m.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades return home from their three-game road trip to host the Texas Wildcatters for three games this week. The South Division rivals meet for the third, fourth and fifth times out of 10 this year. The season series is tied 1-1 after the two clubs met on opening weekend. Texas won the first game 5-2 on Oct. 20 and the 'Blades bounced back with a 5-2 win the next night. After this week, the remaining five games between the teams will be played in Texas. The Wildcatters enter this week's action with an American Conference best record of 11-2-2 (24 pts., 1st South Div.) and have won five straight and are 7-0-2 in their last nine games. The Everblades are 4-2-0 all-time vs. Texas and are 2-2-0 all-time at home vs. the Wildcatters.

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS

Wednesday, November 22 at Columbia 5-1 W

The Everblades used three second period goals and 29 saves by goaltender Craig Kowalski to win their fourth straight over the Columbia Inferno with a 5-1 victory on Wednesday night at the Carolina Coliseum. The Everblades tallied the lone first period goal when Reggie Berg had the puck deflect off his body and into the net at for a power play goal at 12:17. The Everbades blew the game open in the second period scoring three times to open a 4-0 advantage heading into third period. Mike Angelidis, Jon Lehun and Derek Damon all tallied in the middle period. The Everblades had to withstand a heavy onslaught by the Inferno throughout the third period before Columbia notched their lone goal with a 5-on-3 power play at 7:57. The Everblades sealed the win with 1:03 remaining in the game when Dustin Johner tallied. Kowalski earned his fifth straight win to raise his record to 5-2-0 on the season. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-for-9; PK: 9-for-10.

Friday, November 24 at Charlotte 7-1 W

The Everblades used a season-high seven goals and 29 saves by goaltender David Shantz to collect a 7-1 victory over the Charlotte Checkers on Friday night at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. The Everblades tallied the lone first period goal with a 5-on-3 power play goal by Jon Lehun. The Everblades blew the game open in the second period scoring three times to open a 4-0 lead heading into the third period. Vince Bellissimo gave the Everblades a 2-0 advantage and Brad Zancanaro tallied his first goal of the season for a 3-0 Everblades lead before Dustin Johner tallied the team's second 5-on-3 power play goal of the night late in the period. The Checkers finally broke through in the third period at 1:35 of the frame, but Brent McDonald erased any hope of a Charlotte come back with his third short-handed goal of the season at 10:30. The Everblades closed out the scoring with a pair of even strength goals by Reggie Berg and Johner. Shantz raised his record to 6-2-0 on the season with his effort on the night. Florida special teams: PP: 2-for-8, PK: 5-for-6.

Sunday, November 26 at Columbia 3-1 L

The Everblades saw their two-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday night at the Carolina Coliseum. The Everblades fell behind 2-0 after the Inferno notched a first and second period goal. The Everblades cut the Columbia lead in half early in the third period on a power play goal by Vince Bellissimo, but couldn't get any closer thanks to the strong goaltending by Inferno net-minder Todd Ford. The Inferno sealed the win with an empty net goal with 36 seconds remaining in regulation. Goaltender Craig Kowalski suffered the loss allowing two goals on 32 shots to see his personal five-game winning streak come to an end. Florida special teams: PP: 1-for-9, PK: 4-for-5.

Player of the Week Nominee: This week's Everblades nominee for ECHL player of the week is Reggie Berg who tallied five points (2g, 3a) in Florida's three games this past week. The Everblades goaltender of the week nominee is Craig Kowalski who finished the week 1-1-0 with a 1.51 goals against average in his two games played.

Special Teams Breakdown: Here's a look at the special teams of the Everblades and how it breaks down home and away: Power play: 18-for-122 (14.8%) which ranks the Everblades 17th in ECHL. At home the Everblades are 9-for-62 (14.5%) which ranks 13th. On the road the Everblades are 9-for-60 (15.0%) which ranks 18th. Penalty Kill: 104-for-119 (87.4%) which ranked the Everblades fifth in the ECHL. At home the 'Blades are 58-for-68 (85.3%) which is ninth in the league. On the road, Florida is 46-for-51 (90.2%) which is third best in the league.

Movin' on Up!: Everblades defenseman Jeremey Swanson earned a call to the American Hockey League on Monday. The 22-year-old was recalled to the Rochester Americans and heads there with three assists in 16 games with the 'Blades this year. The call up is Swanson's third in his three-year career.

Roster Change: With the call up of Jeremy Swanson to the AHL, the Everblades saw defenseman Franklin MacDonald sent to the team from Rochester. The 21-year-old has played in 11 games with the Americans this season and has two assists and 12 penalty minutes. The rookie completed a three-year career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season by collecting a career high 45 points (12g, 33a) in 58 games.

Teddy Bear Toss: The Everblades will hold their annual "Teddy Bear Toss" on Saturday, December 2 when they host the Texas Wildcatters at Germain Arena. Fans are asked to bring a new, stuffed toy with them to the game and toss it onto the ice after the Everblades score their first goal of the night. The stuffed animals will be collected and distributed to a number of local charities, including Barbara's Friends, which helps benefit children battling cancer.

Coach's Show: 'Blades Talk, the Everblades coaches show will be back on the air on tonight from 7-8 p.m. Fans are encouraged to join Everblades Head Coach Gerry Fleming and the voice of the Everblades Kevin Reiter live at Stevie Tomato's Sports Page in Ft.
