Solar Bears Bring in Manny Gialedakis

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Orlando Solar Bears have announced that the club has signed rookie forward Manny Gialedakis to a Standard Player Contract.

Gialedakis, 26, returns for his second stint with Orlando in his pro career, after joining the Solar Bears for one game last spring on an Amateur Try-Out. In 16 games with the Norfolk Admirals this season, Gialedakis has tallied three assists and 17 penalty minutes. He has also skated in two games for the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the Southern Professional Hockey League, recording two penalty minutes.

Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-11, 198-pound forward played collegiate-level hockey in both the United States and Canada. In 71 career U Sports games with the University of Guelph and the University of Lethbridge, Gialedakis produced 43 points (15g-28a) and 30 penalty minutes. The Woodbridge, Ontario native also skated in four games of NCAA-III hockey with SUNY-Oswego, collecting three assists.

The Solar Bears return home to host the Jacksonville Icemen on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. for a Wine Down Wednesday.
