
Mark Cooper and Mike McMurtry Return from AHL Duty

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Kansas City Mavericks announced Friday afternoon that Forwards Mark Cooper and Mike McMurtry are returning to the team from their AHL assignments. Cooper was on a PTO deal to the San Antonio Rampage since January 14. Forward Mike McMurtry also returns to the Mavericks from the Stockton Heat.
Prior to going to San Antonio, Cooper was a point-per-game player with the Mavericks this season and is the team's leading scorer this season with 35 points on 13 goals and 22 assists in 28 games.
In 82 career games with the Mavs, Cooper has scored 36 goals and garnered 46 assists for 82 points. The 26 year-old has played in 12 AHL games in his career, playing in 10 games for the Tuscon Roadrunners during the 2016-17 season and two for the Chicago Wolves during the 2015-16 season.
In two games this season with KC, McMurtry has one goal. During the 2017-18 season, McMurtry totaled 33 points on 15 goals and 18 assists in 31 games for the Mavericks.
The Mavericks welcome the South Carolina Stingrays to Silverstein Eye Centers Arena for a two-game weekend series on Friday and Saturday. Faceoff for both games will be 7:05 p.m. More information can be found on kcmavericks.com.
