Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, dropped a 6-3 decision to the Minnesota Wild on Friday night in front of a crowd of 4,015 at Allen Event Center.

Idaho jumped out to a 2-nothing lead with goals twelve seconds a part in the opening frame. Alex Dahl picked a rebound to the left of the Allen crease and knocked it home for his 9th of the season. Idaho made it 2-0 after Elgin Pearce grabbed a loose puck in the slot and fired it past CJ Motte to make it 2-0.

The Americans and Steelheads exchanged goals in the second period. Zach Pochiro cut the lead to 2-1 with his league-leading 26th of the season. Idaho responded seventeen seconds later, as Alex Dahl scored his second of the game picking up his own rebound and putting it home on a backhand for his 10th goal of the year. The Americans responded with two goals less than a minute a part. Riley Bourbonnais and Alex Ranger tied the score at 3-3 early in the second frame. Idaho would reclaim the lead nine minutes later when Reid Petryk scored on the power play, his 16th of the season, to put Idaho ahead for good.

The Steelheads would add two empty net goals in the final period on there way to evening up the series at 1-1 with a 6-3 victory. The same two clubs battle it out tomorrow night on Star Wars Night at the Allen Event Center. Puck drop is at 7:05 pm.
