Fort Wayne Komets News Release
Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets announced Friday that they have acquired Garrett Clarke from the Allen Americans for future considerations. Also, J.C. Campagna has been loaned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Clarke, 26, is a seventh-year pro since making his pro debut in a 2012 CHL playoff game with Rio Grande Valley. The Windsor, Nova Scotia native helped Allen to the 2015 ECHL Kelly Cup championship before winning the MOL league championship in 2016 with the DVTK Hungarian team in the Erste Liga. Clarke also was a member of the 2017 ASC Romanian championship team before returning the states to skate 52 games with Indy last season scoring six goals and 16 points while becoming the ECHL's most penalized player of the year with 259 penalty minutes. The defenseman started this season with ASC in the Erste Liga before logging 11 games with Allen.
Campagna (cam-PAGG-nuh), 25, started the season skating two ECHL games with Allen before the Komets acquired the forward in a trade in October. The Dallas, Texas native has scored a team-high 21 goals and added six assists for 27 points in 34 games while with Fort Wayne.
