Smyth Earns CCM/AHL Milestone Of The Month

December 1, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manchester Monarchs News Release

MANCHESTER, NH - The American Hockey League has named Manchester Monarchs forward Brad Smyth the recipient of the CCM/AHL Milestone of the Month award for November. On Nov. 20 at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Smyth scored a first-period goal against Lock Monsters netminder Vitaly Kolesnik to become the 40th player in the history of the American Hockey League to reach 600 points for his career.

The former AHL most valuable player (1996), scoring champion (1996), Calder Cup winner (2000) and All-Star (2001) registered 16 points in 13 games for Manchester in November, and currently sits with 299 goals and 304 assists for 603 points in 550 career AHL contests. Smyth is the leading career scorer among active AHL players - ranking 38th on the AHL's all-time scoring list - and he is one goal shy of joining just 16 other players to reach 300 career AHL goals.

In recognition of earning the CCM/AHL Milestone of the Month, Smyth will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Monarchs home game.

Manchester will host the Hartford Wolf Pack at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday, December 2 at 7:35 p.m. The Springfield Falcons come to town on Saturday, December 3 at 7:35 p.m.
