Wolves Players Continue to Promote Reading Program

Chicago Wolves left wing and Michigan State University graduate Brian Maloney, and center and University of Alabama-Huntsville graduate Jared Ross will make appearances on Tue., Dec. 6, and Wed., Dec. 7, as part of the team's "Read to Succeed" program, sponsored by Fisher Nuts. The program has reached nearly 370,000 children in nine seasons.

The three appearances are scheduled for:

Tue., Dec. 6:

Forest Park Public Library 7555 Jackson Blvd. 4 p.m.

Wed., Dec. 7:

Jared Ross

Justice Public Library 7641 Oak Grove Ave. 4:30 p.m.

Bedford Park Public Library 7816 W. 65th Place 6 p.m.

The players will discuss the importance of recreational reading; dress a child in Wolves hockey gear; raffle Wolves prizes; and sign autographs.

The program encourages children to spend more time reading at the library and for fun. Every participant in the program sets an individual reading goal and has the opportunity to achieve incentive prizes such as Wolves notebooks, "Read to Succeed" T-shirts and game tickets for reaching his or her reading goals.

The Wolves work with the DuPage, North Suburban and Metropolitan Library Systems and their participating libraries, reaching more than 30,000 kids each year. Members of the Wolves will visit nearly 40 libraries throughout the Chicago area this season.
