December 1, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 1, 2005) - The San Antonio Rampage will wear special NBA jerseys in honor of the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, Dec. 2, when the team hosts the Cleveland Barons at the SBC Center at 7 p.m. It marks the first of five select games that the Rampage will don the Spurs-themed sweaters.
The additional dates for the Spurs Nights are Jan. 20, Feb. 24, March 3 and April 8.
Also on Friday night, the first 1,500 fans will receive a Spurs Legends poster, and appearing throughout the game with T-Bone, the Rampage mascot, will be the Spurs Coyote and the Silver Dancers.
After the fifth and final game on April 8, the Spurs-themed jerseys will be auctioned off to the public at the Express-News Headlines in the SBC Center. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Spurs Foundation, and help purchase Rampage tickets for underserved area youth.
The nonprofit 501(c)(3) Spurs Foundation was established to generate goodwill and financial support for economically, emotionally and/or physically disadvantaged youth in South Texas. Since its inception in 1988, the Spurs Foundation has donated $8.5 million in cash and in-kind contributions to deserving South Texas children.
The Rampage made history last year as the only American Hockey League (AHL) club to wear special NBA jerseys with only the San Antonio Spurs logo. The Rampage is a subsidiary of Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E).
Individual and season ticket packages for the Rampage's 2005-06 season are on sale now. For ticket information, please call (210) 444-5050 or visit www.sarampage.com. All games can be viewed through B2 Networks' live video web cast for $6 to anyone with a high-speed internet connection, through a link at www.sarampage.com.
