Blackhawks recall Hilbert, Thornton, assign Cullen

General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled forwards Andy Hilbert and Shawn Thornton from Norfolk and have re-assigned forward Mark Cullen to the Admirals.

Hilbert was acquired by the Blackhawks from the Boston Bruins on November 6th in exchange for a 5th round pick in the 2006 draft. He signed a PTO contract with the Norfolk Admirals and appeared in 5 games at Norfolk scoring 3 goals while adding 4 assists for 7 points. He was signed by the Blackhawks on November 30th.

Thornton, who was re-assigned to Norfolk on Wednesday, has been recalled from the Admirals. He had appeared in two games for the Blackhawks on their recent road trip and did not score.

Mark Cullen has been re-assigned to the Admirals. Cullen had 3 goals in 9 games for the Blackhawks including a 2-goal game at Calgary on November 18th. He played in his first NHL game at St. Louis on November 10th and scored his first career NHL goal in that game.
