December 1, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
When the Hamilton Bulldogs meet the Toronto Maple Leafs AHL Affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, in a home-and-home series on December 2 and December 3, both teams will be wearing specialty jerseys honouring the rivalry between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts! Hamilton hosts Toronto this Friday, December 2 (7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum), and then travels to Toronto this Saturday, December 3 (7:00 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum).
The Bulldogs will be wearing yellow and black jerseys, while the Marlies will be donning double-blue jerseys.
At Hamilton's home game this Friday, December 2, in addition to wearing Ti-Cat inspired jerseys, the Bulldogs will honour former and current Tiger-Cat and Argonaut players with a ceremony at centre ice prior to the game.
Current Tiger-cat personnel that will be at the game include head coach Greg Marshall, linebacker Rob Hitchcock, and guard Ryan Donnelly. Ti-Cat alumni that are scheduled to attend include Angelo Mosca, Dave Marler, and Bob Richardson. Argonauts linebacker Mike O'Shea, wide receiver Andre Talbot, and running back Jeff Johnson will also be in attendance, as will former Argonauts Pete Martin, Peter Paquette, and Gerry Sternburg.
"Friday will be a fun event for Hamilton sports fans and a way for them to show their support for two great organizations on one night," said Tiger-Cats head coach Greg Marshall. "Hamiltonians have always been great fans and proud followers of their local teams. We're looking forward to the game."
Fans looking to take home a souvenir from the game can bid on jerseys through a silent auction. Two autographed Tiger-Cat jerseys will be available; one will be autographed by all Ti-Cat representatives in attendance, while the other will be signed by Rob Hitchcock. Two signed Argonaut jerseys will also be available; one will feature signatures from all Argonauts representatives that will be at the game, while the other will be signed by Mike O'Shea.
Bulldogs game-worn jerseys for these two games will be available at a later date via silent and online auctions.
