Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV â The Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL announce that the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League have recalled forwards J.C. Ruid and J.F. Dufour.
Ruid has appeared in eight of the Nailers first ten games and has recorded eight points on four goals and four assists. The eight points by Ruid is sixth best on the team. This is the first assignment of the season for Ruid to the AHL. Ruid first played in the AHL during the 2001-02 season when he played three games for the Grand Rapids Griffins. Last season he saw time with the Binghamton Senators and the Albany River Rats.
Dufour has played in all ten games for the Nailers this season and is second on the team in scoring with 11 points on five goals and six assists. Dufour leads the Nailers in power play goals with three and game-winning goals with three. This will be the first AHL assignment for the third year professional.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has assigned goaltender Martin Brochu to the Nailers for the third time this season. Brochu started the first seven games of the season for Wheeling and recorded a 5-1-1 record with one shutout. His goals against average is 2.83 and his save percentage is .899. Brochu has appeared in one game in the AHL and has a 0-1-0 record.
The Nailers have also activated forward Brandon Doria from the injured reserve list. The first year professional has appeared in four games for the Nailers and has one point on one assist. Doria has been on the IR since an injury sustained in a game on October 25 against the Peoria Rivermen.
The Nailers play three games this weekend, one on the road and two at WesBanco Arena. Friday the Nailers travel to Johnstown for a 7:00p.m. game against the Chiefs. The Nailers return home on Saturday against the Reading Royals at 7:30p.m. and Sunday at 2:00p.m. against the Dayton Bombers.
