Bombers Land Rights to Geoff Peters

The Dayton Bombers of the ECHL-America's Premier AA Hockey League have announced that they have received the rights to center Geoff Peters from the Reading Royals in exchange for the rights to defenseman Doug Nolan.

Peters, who is currently on recall to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL) and has appeared in five games with the Amerks, is a native of Hamilton, Ontario. The 6-1, 190 lb. center had 15 goals and 13 assists in 40 games played with the Reading Royals last season. He has had stints with four different American Hockey League teams (Portland, Norfolk, Milwaukee, and Rochester) and two International Hockey League (IHL) clubs (Indianapolis Ice and Cleveland Lumberjacks) in his career. He was selected by the National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks in the second round (46th overall) of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.

Doug Nolan is currently on a two-way, AHL contract and is with the AHL's Manchester Monarchs. Manchester and ECHL Reading are affiliates of and are owned by the NHL's Los Angeles Kings.

The Bombers' next game is Saturday, November 15 at Peoria against the Rivermen (8:05 p.m. game time/ 7:50 p.m. broadcast time). The game can be heard on www.daytonbombers.com (Media Center-Listen Live section) in association with www.broadcastmonsters.com with Matt Gorsky at the microphone.

On Sunday (11/16, 4:00 p.m.), the Bombers will revisit their popular "Kids' Silly Sunday" theme once again with a home game against Peoria at the Ervin J. Nutter Center. The event will feature balloon animals, the Magic of Robert Edwards, a Moonwalk Inflatable, and face painting, as well as other fun-filled festivities for kids. In addition, 4,000 Bomber Banger Sticks will be given away. Value City Furniture, Advance Auto Parts, Pontiac, and WTUE-FM will be presenting the Bomber Banger Sticks promotion. The first 500 kids 12 and under will receive a free Pepsi and a Marchele-Pretzel.

Another "Bucky's Flight Crew" Sunday (presented by Office Depot), the day's festivities will conclude with a post-game "Skate with the Team" Session. Fans are encouraged to bring their skates to this team function. The all-new Office Depot "Bucky's Flight Crew" Kids' Club, which has increased its membership by 212% since the end of last season, is a great holiday gift item for kids.
