RailRiders to Pay off ALDS Wager

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

MOOSIC, PA. - Due to unforeseen circumstances in October 2018, the Boston Red Sox defeated the New York Yankees three games to one in a best-of-five American League Divisional Series playoff series. As a result, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders lost a friendly wager with the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Therefore let it be known that the RailRiders will make good on their losing end of this gentlemen's agreement on Tuesday, May 21, when Scranton/Wilkes-Barre welcomes, with open gates, Boston's Triple-A affiliate to PNC Field.

As promised, the RailRiders will offer free tickets to the first 2,004 fans. Tickets can be claimed from this moment through first pitch on May 21 at PNC Field, slated for 6:35 p.m. To claim a free ticket in accordance with the terms of the wager, fans must visit the E-Auto Box Office in person and must be wearing Boston Red Sox or Pawtucket Red Sox gear. Tickets will be limited to four per person and upgrades are available for a small fee. Free tickets on May 21 will be limited to the remaining allotment from 2,004 available, but fans must comply by wearing the proper team gear.

In addition, the RailRiders will force their fans to listen to the Dropkick Murphy's hit "Shipping Up to Boston" in the middle of the eighth inning. Should the PawSox dare to win that night, the RailRiders will end the night with "Dirty Water" by The Standells.

Finally, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's Team President and General Manager Josh Olerud, select staff members and the Pinstripe Patrol will wear 2018 ALDS t-shirts commemorating Boston's series victory. Fortunately, the RailRiders staff only needs to purchase and wear nine t-shirts to honor the eight titles previously won by the franchise from Fenway Park (while begrudgingly adding one to the order for a title most recently won).

For more information, please visit the E-Auto Box Office at PNC Field or call (570) 969-BALL.
