Raiders Finish the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft

Prince Albert SK- The Prince Albert Raiders have finished their day at the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft with six selections in the final five rounds.

In the 5th round, the Green and Gold added Ty Prefontaine, a 6'3", 165-pound defenceman. The Saskatoon product scored 6 goals and 14 assists for the Maniacs of the SBAAHL, while recording 38 penalty minutes in 26 games. Prefontaine also added a goal and 3 assists in 5 playoff games for the Maniacs.

With the 127th overall pick in the 6th round, the Raiders took another Saskatoon defenceman in Ashton Heidt, who tallied 16 points, on 3 goals and 13 assists, and 48 penalty minutes in 16 game, and 2 points in 8 playoff games, for the Stallions this season.

In the 7th round, the Raiders took left-winger Parker Kelly from the Camrose Vikings Bantam AAA. The 5'7" forward led his team with 35 goals in 38 games, as well as adding 25 assists for 58 points before chalking up 5 goals and 4 assists in 3 playoff games. Kelly also represented the Northeast Flyers in the Alberta Cup, recording 5 points on 3 goals and 2 assists in 5 games.

The 8th round selection, 162nd overall, the team chose 5'9", 191-pound left-winger Chris Monden from the Calgary Bantam AAA Flames. In 30 games in the AMBAAAHL for the Flames, Monden notched 19 times with 19 assist for 38 points along with 41 penalty minutes. He represented Calgary North in the 2014 Albert Cup, with 4 goals and 2 assists in 5 tournament games.

The 9th round saw the Raiders take a teammate of their first round pick Ian Scott in Calgary Northstar Sabres defenceman Zackary Hayes. The 6'1", 201-pound rearguard had 5 goals and 11 assists to compliment 42 penalty minutes in 33 games. Joining Scott and Chris Monden on Calgary North for the Alberta Cup, Hayes recorded 8 penalty minutes and one goal.

The team swapped their 9th round pick in 2015 to acquire the Victoria Royal's 9th round selection this year, and took 1998-born forward Samuel Huff from Maple Grove, Minnesota. The only American selected by the Raiders buried 8 goals and 14 assists in 25 games with Maple Grove High School.

The team's 10th round selection was used to select Keeven Daniels-Webb of the Interlake Lightning in the Winnipeg AAA. The 6'5" left-winger amassed 91 penalty minutes in 27 games, and chipped in with 9 goals and 15 assists for 24 points.
