Pats Select Erik Gardiner 35th Overall

Regina, Saskatchewan - With their 2nd round pick (35th Overall) in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft, the Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to select forward Erik Gardiner.

Gardiner (6'0", 160) played with the Humboldt Broncos of the SBAAHL this season, totaling 61 points (24G, 37A) and 48 penalty minutes in 31 games.

The Humboldt, SK native was the captain of the Broncos this season and is the younger brother of Prince Albert Raiders forward Reid Gardiner. Gardiner also scored one goal in four games of action with the Prince Albert Mintos during the SMAAAHL Regular Season and suited up for three games in the Playoffs.

"Erik is an intelligent playmaker who sees ice well," commented Regina Pats Senior VP and General Manager Chad Lang. "He provides the opportunity to make players around him better, has scoring ability and strong character."

The Pats next selection will be in the fifth round, 101st overall.
