Prince Albert SK- The Prince Albert Raiders selected goaltender Ian Scott with their first pick, 9th overall, in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft taking place today in Calgary.

Scott played the past season with the Calgary Northstar Sabres, posting 3.12 goals against average and .916 save percentage. The 6'2" netminder was the South Division Top Goaltender in the Alberta Bantam Hockey League.

"You just look at him and right away the size is there already, he is very athletic and moves well in his net," said Raiders Director of Player Personnel Dale Derkatch. "If I had to compare him to someone, he is somewhat similar to Nick McBride, our goaltender right now."

"You always start from the goaltender out. You need good goaltending and you see that throughout the playoffs."

Scott was the first goaltender to be taken in the Draft.

The Draft will continue throughout the day on WHL.ca.
