
P-Bruins Fall To Aeros 4-2

Houston, TX - The Providence Bruins fell to the Houston Aeros 4-2 Friday evening at the Toyota Center. The P-Bruins got their goals from Matt Lashoff and Levi Nelson. The P-Bruins are back in action on Saturday at the AT&T Center versus the San Antonio Rampage at 8:00 p.m.
The P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead at the 5:41 mark of the opening period. Mikko Lehtonen stole the puck in the corner and fed it to Martin St. Pierre in the left face off circle. He passed it to a wide open Lashoff in the left face off circle and Lashoff sent the puck top shelf into the net for his second goal of the season. Just over a minute later at the 6:57 mark the Aeros tied the game at one. Jason Deitsch netted his second goal of the season, with Krys Kolanos recording the lone assist. The game went into the first intermission tied at one.
The Aeros took their first lead of the game at the 1:52 mark of the second period. Kolanos tallied his sixth goal of the season with Corey Locke grabbing the lone assist. The P-Bruins battled back to tie the game at two at the 15:37 mark. Jordan Knackstedt held the puck along the right boards and worked it to Johnny Boychuk at the right point. He took a shot which was blocked on its way to the net, but Nelson was there to scoop up the loose puck and score his first goal of the season. The game went into the second intermission tied at two.
In the third period, the Aeros took the lead for good at the 3:26 mark. Danny Irmen scored his second goal of the season with Locke and Deitsch picking up the assists. The Aeros finished off the scoring with an empty net goal at the 19:21 mark from Bryan Lundbohm, his first goal of the season, with Deitsch getting the lone assist.
Kevin Regan stopped 20 of 23 shots for the P-Bruins, while Nolan Schaefer made 25 saves for the Aeros. The P-Bruins were 0-for-1 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
The P-Bruins wrap up their six game road trip Saturday against the Rampage at the AT&T Center at 8:00 p.m. The P-Bruins return home to The Dunk Friday, November 7 versus the Wolves for Hat Night at 7:05 p.m. Information on P-Bruins tickets can be obtained by calling the team ticket office at (401) 273-5000 or by logging onto the team website at providencebruins.com.
