HOUSTON, Texas - The Houston Aeros remained tied with the Providence Bruins through two periods but took the final period for a 4-2 victory at Toyota Center Friday night. The win moved Houston (6-3-0-0) into a three-way tie for second place in the West Division with Chicago and Iowa at 12 points. The Aeros extended their home-win streak to seven games - five this season - dating back to last year. The streak ties the club's longest home-winning streak.

GAME RECAP

Providence got on the board first with a tally at 5:41 into the game but just over a minute later Jason Deitsch tied the game with the first of three points on the evening. Krys Kolanos earned the lone assist on Deitsch's goal at 6:57 in the first period.

Kolanos put the Aeros ahead 2-1 only 1:52 in the second frame as linemate Corey Locke earned his first of two assists on the night. Providence tied the game at two each with 4:23 left in the period, which lasted through the intermission.

Danny Irmen netted his second goal of the season, the eventual game winner, at 3:26 in the third period. Locke and Deitsch earned the assists for the goal. Houston fought off late efforts from the Bruins including an extra-attacker situation. Bryan Lundbohm took advantage of the empty-net when Deitsch passed the puck to set up a breakaway to the open net to complete the 4-2 victory.
