Syracuse Crunch News Release

Syracuse, NY (October 31, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today the details of OCRRA BlueBinit Night at the Crunch, set for Saturday, November 8 vs. the Manitoba Moose.

Representatives will be on hand to help educate fans about the importance of recycling, as well as distribute promotional materials. One (1) lucky fan will have the chance to participate in an intermission promotion for a chance to win prizes, courtesy of OCRRA and the Crunch.

Following the game, fans will be able to assist in the recycling effort by picking up a new OCRRA Blue Bin to bring home.

In addition, OCRRA has donated tickets for the November 8 game to students and staff that are making a difference in recycling at the following schools:

HW Smith

Solvay High School

Seymour Elementary School

Blodgett School

Jamesville-DeWitt Middle School

Each of these schools has students and faculty dedicated to making recycling happen. The majority of these schools are early adopters of OCRRAʼs School Recycling Pledge Program.

To participate in this program, a school must contact OCRRA and agree to make a commitment to recycling. OCRRA will deliver a FREE, 2 x 3 foot framed pledge that highlights tips on how to recycle properly.

Schools that participate in this program are already seeing an increase in recycling on school grounds.

OCRRA has a pledge available for every school in Onondaga County. Email OCRRA at info@ocrra.org or call 453-2866, ext. 210 for more information.

The Crunch continue their 15th AHL season on Saturday, November 1 as they head to Rockford for the second game of a four-game road trip. The Crunch return home on Saturday, November 8 as they square off against division rival Manitoba at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for all Crunch home games are available by calling the Crunch Box Office, (315) 473-4444, or by visiting the Crunch office in the War Memorial at Oncenter in downtown Syracuse.
