June 28, 2018 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

The Pacific Coast League announced on Thursday that Storm Chasers right-handed pitcher Trevor Oaks and infielder Frank Schwindel have been named to the Pacific Coast League's All-Star Squad for the 2018 Triple-A All-Star Game. The contest will be played on July 11, 2018 at Huntington Park in Columbus, Ohio.

Oaks entering play today ranks second in the Pacific Coast League in earned-run average (2.05) and batting average against (.224), in addition to third in the circuit in WHIP (1.15). Oaks overall in 12 starts with the Storm Chasers this season has compiled a 4-3 record and has combined to allow just two earned runs over his last six outings for Omaha, a span of 36.0 frames.

The honor is the first Pacific Coast League All-Star nod for Oaks, who was previously tabbed a Texas League Mid-Season All-Star in 2016. Oaks was acquired by the Royals in a January 4, 2018 trade from the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was selected by Los Angeles in the seventh round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of California Baptist.

Schwindel enters Thursday play fifth in the Pacific Coast League with 54 runs driven in, in addition to tied for tenth in doubles (18). In 72 games with Omaha this season he has accumulated a .284 average (75-264) along with 36 runs, 18 doubles, one triple, 13 homers and 54 RBI. Over 21 June contests he owns a .342 clip (27-79), adding 15 runs, six doubles, six homers and 18 RBI, including ten multi-hit efforts.

This marks the first Pacific Coast League All-Star selection for Schwindel. He previously had received Mid-Season All-Star honors from the Texas League (2016) and South Atlantic League (2014). The 26-year-old was selected by the Royals in the 18th round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of St. John's University.

2018 marks the first time the Storm Chasers have had multiple Pacific Coast League Mid-Season All-Star selections since the 2016 campaign, when pitchers Andrew Edwards and Brooks Pounders both garnering All-Star honors.

The Storm Chasers are set to complete their four-game road series this evening in Round Rock, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT at Dell Diamond. LHP Jonathan Dziedzic is expected to toe the rubber for Omaha, with the Express anticipated to counter with LHP David Hurlbut (2-5, 4.83).

Following tonight's matchup, the Storm Chasers return home to Werner Park to start a five-game homestand versus the Nashville Sounds on Friday, June 29. The series opener that evening is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. CT first pitch.

Tickets are still available for that game and all remaining Storm Chasers home dates in 2018, and may be purchased at www.omahastormchasers.com/tickets as well as by calling the Werner Park Ticket Office at (402) 738-5100.
