Blash Blasts Three Homers in Loss

June 28, 2018 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Salt Lake Bees News Release

Jabari Blash tied a Salt Lake franchise record with three home runs, but the Bees fell 14-4 to the Reno Aces on Wednesday night.

Blash gave Salt Lake the lead with a two run shot in the first inning that cleared the 22 foot wall at the 410 foot mark in center field. The Bees were down 6-2 in the fourth when Blash led off the fourth with his second home run of the night. Salt Lake trailed 9-3 in the eighth, when Blash tied the mark with a mammoth homer over the wall in center. Blash now has 22 home runs this season, which leads the Pacific Coast League. His three roundtrippers drove in all four runs for the Bees.

Unfortunately, Reno set a franchise record with six homers, although two of them came off of Bees' catcher Francisco Arcia, who pitched the eighth inning for Salt Lake. The Aces scored three runs in the second inning, three in the third, two in the fourth, one in the sixth and five in the eighth. Starter Luis Pena (1-2) took the loss, as he went just three innings and allowed six runs on nine hits with three walks, one strikeout and two home runs.
