Reno Aces News Release
Reno, Nev. - Game three in the four-game series against the Salt Lake Bees was taken by the Reno Aces by the score of 14-4. The Aces scored 14 runs on 16 hits. Offensively, the Aces were again led by Kevin Cron who hit three home runs for the second time in his career. Socrates Brito added two of his own, going back-to-back with Cron two times tonight. Starting pitcher Anthony Vasquez went 6.0 innings allowing three runs on five hits with seven strikeouts. The win improves the Aces to a record of 36-43 on the season, 10.5 games back of the first place Fresno Grizzlies.
Salt Lake wasted no time striking first in tonight's game when Jabari Blash hit a two-run blast to give the Bees a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the second, the Aces would score three times with an RBI triple from Rey Fuentes, RBI single from Yasmany Tomas, and then Juniel Querecuto drove in Kristopher Negron for the final run of the inning to give Reno the 3-2 advantage. In the third, the Aces tacked on three more runs with the help of Brito and Cron. The duo hit back-to-back home runs off Salt Lake starter Luis Pena. Blash inched the Bees closer in the fourth with his second homer of the night to cut the lead to 6-3. In the bottom of the inning Brito and Cron once again hit back-to-back homers stretching the lead to 8-3. They are the first duo in Aces history to accomplish this feat two times in one game. After reno scored one more in the sixth, Blash crushed his third home run of the game to center field making the score 9-4 Reno. Not to be outdone, Cron hit his third homer of the game in the eighth and was followed by a Tomas homer three batters later giving the Aces the 14-4 victory.
