Fresno Grizzlies News Release
FRESNO, Calif. - The eighth Fresno Grizzlies homestand of the 2018 season is scheduled for July 4 through July 7 with five games against the Las Vegas 51s (New York Mets). Former Fresno Grizzlies Manager Tony DeFrancesco (2015-2017) will return to Fresno for the first time leading Las Vegas; DeFrancesco led the Grizzlies to the 2015 Pacific Coast League and Triple-A National Championships, and three consecutive winning seasons for the first time in franchise history. Tickets may be purchased at the Chukchansi Park box office, or anytime at FresnoGrizzlies.com. Here is a preview of the promotional schedule:
Wednesday, July 4 (6:35 p.m.) - Independence Day Celebration featuring Post-Game Fireworks Extravaganza, presented by Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino and ABC 30: The fireworks following the game will be the biggest Fourth of July show in the Central Valley! (Fans will be permitted to watch the fireworks on the field, as with past July 4 games.) The fireworks show will be FOUR TIMES the size of a typical Friday show after a Grizzlies game. Come celebrate the holiday with us!
Replicas of the special stars and stripes jerseys the Grizzlies will be wearing on the field will be available in the Team Store as an in-game exclusive, as will the matching caps (see attached images).
The game-worn jerseys will be available for bid in a silent auction during the game. Winning bidders will collect their jerseys, autographed by the player, on the field after the game. Auction proceeds will benefit "Our Heroes' Dream."
Growlifornia Monsoon: The Fourth of July tradition at Chukchansi Park continues, with THREE waterslides in the ballpark.
Independence Day Baseball BBQ: An all-inclusive all-you-can-eat ticket! In the Tecate Cantina on the third base/left field side of Chukchansi Park, the buffet will begin at 5:35 p.m., lasting until 7:05 p.m. (a half hour after first pitch). Menu includes burgers, hot dogs, brisket, corn on the cob, BBQ baked beans, mac salad, watermelon and ice cream sandwiches and brownies for dessert. Price is $35 for the general public and a $19 upgrade for season ticket holders (includes buffet and game ticket).
Thursday, July 5 (7:05 p.m.) - Throwback Thursday/Fresno Raisin Eaters Jerseys: The Grizzlies will take the field in tribute jerseys to the 1906 Fresno Raisin Eaters (see attached image), Fresno's first club in the Pacific Coast League! The game-worn jerseys will be available to bid on following the season, with the winners receiving their jersey autographed by the player. Thursday Happy Hour Special: The best food deal in Triple-A is back for 2018! At every Thursday home game from gates open (6:05 p.m.) to first pitch, fans can order a burger, fries and a 12-ounce beer or soda for just FIVE DOLLARS.
