Round Rock Express Introduce 2018 "Team Member for a Day"

ROUND ROCK, Texas - In conjunction with Sport Clips Haircuts, the Round Rock Express are excited to announce Jim Durkin as the 2018 "Team Member for a Day." Durkin was selected as the grand prize winner for the eighth annual MVP Game Day Experience, presented by Sport Clips.
Durkin will be introduced during a press conference on Thursday, June 28 at 3:00 p.m. in the Dell Diamond press box. Alongside Durkin will be Express Manager Jason Wood, General Manager Tim Jackson and President Chris Almendarez. He will sign his one-day team contract, receive an Express uniform and will be assigned a locker.
As a full, non-active member of the squad for Saturday's 7:05 p.m. contest against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, Durkin will participate in all fielding and batting practice, deliver the lineup card to the umpires and receive a full dugout experience during the game.

"The MVP Game Day Experience is a unique opportunity Sport Clips offers its clients and we are thrilled to join with the Express on this event for eight years in a row."
A native of Syracuse, New York, Durkin grew up around the game of baseball as his father worked part-time for the Triple-A Syracuse Chiefs. His father was recently inducted into the Syracuse Chiefs Wall of Fame. Durkin served in the United States Marine Corps from 1974-1984 before a 32-year career designing machine tools for processing gears. He and his wife of 43 years moved to Central Texas in 2017.

Durkin will be in uniform this Saturday, June 30 as the Express face the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Milwaukee Brewers affiliate). First pitch at Dell Diamond is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
