Nailers athletic trainer named to National Conference All-Stars

WHEELING, WV – The ECHL announced today that Nailers Athletic Trainer Dave Hanna has been selected to be the Head Trainer for the National Conference All-Stars in Reading, PA on January 26th.

Dave is a proud employee of Wheeling Hospital in the Physical Therapy/Sports Medicine Department, during the hockey season he spends his time working for the Nailers.

The Wheeling, WV native graduated from West Liberty State College in 1993 with a degree in Biology and Communications. He received his Masters in Athletic Training from West Virginia University in 1995. Hanna also served as Head Athletic Trainer for the Wheeling indoor football league team for four seasons, and has been part of the coaching staff for the Wheeling Jesuit University Women's Soccer Team for three years with his wife Carrie.

"We as an organization, are really proud of Dave and this honor is definitely reflective of the quality attention our players have received over the years from Dave and Wheeling Hospital," said Nailers President Jim Brooks.

Hanna had this to say about his selection, "I feel proud to represent the Nailers and Wheeling Hospital in the All-Star game. I was surprised and honored to be selected by the other trainers in the league, and I'm looking forward to going".

The Nailers weekly coaches show is tonight at Club Rio at the Ramada Plaza City Center Hotel from 7-8 PM. Announcer Ned Bowdern will be interviewing Head Coach Pat Bingham and new goaltender Andy Chiodo. Fans are welcome to attend, or can tune in to 1170 AM WWVA to listen to the show.
