
Sabourin named starter for National Conference All-Stars

WHEELING, WV â The ECHL announced today that goaltender Dany Sabourin has been named as a starter for the National Conference All-Stars in Reading, PA on January 26th.
Sabourin, 24, leads the ECHL with a goals-against average of 1.60, and ranks third in the league with a .944 save percentage. Sabourin's league leading five shutouts is also a is Nailers all time franchise record. He ranks second in the league in wins with 16, and is tied for second in shootout wins with three.
The 6'4", 190 pound native of Val d'Or, Quebec is under contract and is currently recalled to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL. Sabourin was voted the starter for the National Conference, which is the second consecutive year the Nailers will have an All-Star starter, as Jason Jaffray was named a starter last season.
"We're real happy for Dany to get the recognition that he deserves, he has played real solid this season never having an off night. He gives us a chance to win every night," said Nailers Head Coach Pat Bingham.
The Nailers weekly coaches show is tonight at Club Rio at the Ramada Plaza City Center Hotel from 7-8 PM. Fans are welcome to attend, or can tune in to 1170 AM WWVA to listen to the show.
