
Wranglers\' McBain and Lattery Named All-Stars

Las Vegas, NV â The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today defenseman Jason McBain and winger Dana Lattery will represent the club at the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game on Wednesday, January 26th at 7:00 pm EST in Reading, PA.
McBain will start for the National Conference in his first ECHL All-Star game. McBain, the only team Captain in Wranglers' history, is currently tied for seventh best among defenseman in the ECHL with five goals and 14 assists for 19 points in 24 games. McBain's +8 rating is the second highest on the team. He is the team's all-time leading scorer with 16 goals and 58 assists for 74 points in 96 career games with Las Vegas. The 11-year veteran finished sixth best in the ECHL among defensemen in scoring with 11 goals and 44 assists for 55 points in 72 games last season. The 55 points last year was the second highest total in McBain's career and the most he ever scored with one team in a season. McBain set a team-record with four assists against Fresno on January 31st, 2004. He also finished fourth in the league among defensemen with a +30 rating and with 237 shots on goal. The Kimberly, BC native was drafted by the Hartford Whalers, now Carolina Hurricanes, in Round 4 (#81 Overall) in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. McBain played nine games with the NHL's Hartford Whalers between 1995 and 1997. McBain was a member of 2001-02 Taylor Cup Champion Fresno Falcons in the WCHL. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder also won the AHL's Calder Cup with the Providence Bruins in 1998-99.
The 25-year old Lattery is currently playing with the AHL's Providence Bruins. Lattery left Las Vegas on December 29th as the team leader in goals (10) and points (23) after playing in 26 games. Lattery's 13 assists are second on the team, one behind team-leaders McBain, Jeff Attard, and Ryan Gaucher. The 5-foot-11, 220-pound forward is ranked 13th in scoring for rookies in the ECHL.
Last season winger Justin Kelly and defenseman Dave Cousineau represented Las Vegas at the 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All Star Game in Peoria, IL.
The Wranglers will host a two-game home stand against the Peoria Rivermen this weekend on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 pm. Friday, January 7th the Wranglers will hand out 2,000 fuzzy dice. Saturday January 8th, the Wranglers will host the Port-O-Subs pre-game party from 4:00 â 6:00 pm in the parking lot of the Orleans Arena. STAR 102.7 FM will be on hand to provide live entertainment. Also, on Saturday January 8th the Wranglers will celebrate Elvis Presley's birthday by giving away 1,000 Elvis sunglasses with sideburns. The team will also wear specialty jerseys in honor of Presley. The specialty jerseys will be auctioned off during the game.
Tickets for all games are on sale now. Fans may purchase seats to the Wranglers Opening Night on November 2nd as well as all other 35 regular season home games and both pre-season games at any of the following ticket locations; The Orleans Arena Box Office, Coast Casinos' showroom box offices at The Orleans, Gold Coast and Suncoast, or at the Boulevard, Galleria or Meadows Malls guest relations/ticket centers.
