LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS

At Bridgeport (12/10): Right wing Rob Collins tallied two goals, including the game-winner as the Bridgeport Sound Tigers skated past the Monarchs, 4-2, on Friday night at the Arena at Harbor Yard. Right wing Tom Kostopoulos and defenseman Tim Gleason scored for the Monarchs. Goaltender Mathieu Garon stopped 21 shots. Sound Tigers goaltender Wade Dubielewicz made 32 saves on the evening. Manchester went 1-9 on the power play and Bridgeport was 0-4 on the power play.

At Hartford (12/11): Right wing Ken Gernander scored with less than four minutes remaining to give the Hartford Wolf Pack a 3-2 victory over the Monarchs at the Hartford Civic Center on Saturday night. Center Michael Cammalleri and left wing Noah Clarke found the back of the net for the Monarchs. Hartford center Alexandre Giroux, center Ryan Hollweg and Gernander beat goaltender Adam Hauser (32 saves). Hartford goaltender Jason LaBarbera earned the win, stopping 21 shots. Manchester went 2-10 on the power play and Hartford was 1-10 on the power play.

Vs. Springfield (12/12): Rookie center Matt Ryan recorded his third game-winning goal of the season in the Monarchs 4-3 win over the Springfield Falcons at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Sunday night. Right wing Tom Kostopoulos, center Michael Cammalleri and center Yanick Lehoux also scored for the Monarchs. Springfield center Jason Jaspers, defenseman Nikos Tselios and right wing Shane Willis beat Monarchs goaltender Mathieu Garon (30 saves), but he was able to hold the Falcons off down the stretch to earn his 14th win of the season. Falcons goaltender Jamie Storr stopped 21 shots in the loss. The Monarchs went 1-4 on the power play and the Falcons were 0-5 on the power play.

News & Notes

Center Michael Cammalleri extended his scoring streak to six games with one goal and two assists in the Monarchs 4-3 win over the Springfield Falcons at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Sunday night.

The three-point game was the sixth of the season for Cammalleri, who leads the AHL with 22 goals and 42 points (22-20=42).

The Sunday win snapped a Monarchs three-game winless streak (0-2-1-0).

With 21 wins this season (21-3-1-0, 41 points), the Monarchs lead the second place Hartford Wolf Pack (17-6-1-2, 37 points) by six points in the American Hockey League's Atlantic Division.

Cammalleri also had a goal in the Monarchs 3-2 loss to the Wolf Pack at the Hartford Civic Center on Saturday night. The goal, his league-leading 11th on the power play, came with the Monarchs holding a 5-on-3 man-advantage early in the second period.

With his goal on Sunday night, Cammalleri moved into fourth place on the Monarchs all-time goal leaders list. Cammalleri, selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the second-round (49th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, has 47 career goals with the Monarchs.

Cammalleri's goal on Sunday night also represented his 100th Monarchs point. Cammalleri, a 22-year-old native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, has 101 points (47-54=101) in 79 career games with the Monarchs.

Cammalleri is one of only five Monarchs players to surpass the 100-point plateau. The other four include center Steve Kelly (164), left wing Pavel Rosa (151), left wing Eric Healey (131) and center Yanick Lehoux (117).

Cammalleri's power play goal on Sunday was his 16th as a Monarch. Cammalleri, who ranks third on the Monarchs all-time power play goal list with 16, needs just four more power play goals to tie former Monarchs left wing Eric Healey for first place on the alltime list. Healey had 20 power play goals in 140 career games with the Monarchs over two seasons (2001-03).

Cammalleri, with 22 goals in 25 games this season, has already surpassed his goal total for all of last year when he collected 20 goals in 41 games.

Cammalleri has scored at least a point in 23 of the 25 games he's appeared in this season. Lehoux tied his career high for goals in a season with his 16th of the season on Sunday night against the Falcons. Lehoux, a thirdround (86th overall) selection of the Kings in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, also had 16 goals during his rookie season of 2002-03.

Lehoux is tied with former Monarchs left wing Derek Bekar for fifth on the team's all-time goal leaders list with 46 goals in 169 games.

Lehoux, who leads the Monarchs and ranks third in the league with 22 assists, needs just one more helper to move past former Monarchs defenseman Tomas Zizka into third place on the Monarchs all-time assist leaders list. Lehoux and Zizka are tied for third with 71 career Monarchs assists.

Left wing Jeff Giuliano appeared in his 150th Monarchs game on Saturday night against the Wolf Pack. Giuliano ranks eighth on the Monarchs all-time games played list with 151 games over three seasons (2002-present).

Defenseman Joe Rullier ranks first on the all-time list. Sunday's game against the Falcons was his 222nd as a Monarch.

Left wing Chris Schmidt ranks second on the Monarchs all-time games played list. The captain appeared in his 194th Monarchs contest on Sunday against the Falcons.

Goaltender Adam Hauser took his first loss of the season on Saturday night against the Wolf Pack. Now with a 7-1-0 record on the season, Hauser ranks third in the league in both goals -against-average (1.73) and save-percentage (.944).

Goaltender Mathieu Garon earned his league-leading 14th win against the Falcons on Sunday night. Garon, who owns a 14-3-0 record in 17 appearances this season, has 97 career wins in the AHL.

The Monarchs are 17-0-0-0 in games where they've scored four or more goals this season. The Monarchs are 6-1-1-0 in one-goal games this season. The record includes a 4-1-1-0 mark in one-goal road games.

The Monarchs are 19-1-0-0 in games where they've collected the first goal this season. The Monarchs, who scored the first goal in 20 of their first 21 games this season, have allowed the first goal to the opposition in each of their last four contests.

The Monarchs are 14-2-1-0 in 17 Atlantic Division games this season. The record includes a mark of 8-2-0-0 in 10 road games against divisional opponents.

The Monarchs have gone a franchise record 12 games on home ice without a regulation loss. The Monarchs record during the streak is 11-0-1-0.

The Monarchs franchise record six-game road winning streak ended on Friday night against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The Monarchs lead the AHL with a .860 winning percentage (21-3-1-0). Their 21 wins are also tops in the circuit.

The Monarchs lead the league with 105 goals, 189 assists, 294 points and 34 power play goals.

The Monarchs lead the league with a 21.5 percent success rate on the power play (34 for 158).

The Monarchs have scored at least one power play goal in each of their 12 home games this season.
