Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
The Hamilton Bulldogs had important meetings with two division rivals last week and were victorious in both contests including a 2-0 win over the Cleveland Barons in Hamilton and a 3-2 shootout win in Rochester over the Amerks. The Bulldogs are riding a three-game winning streak and are now in sixth place in the North Division, just one point back of Syracuse.
Leading the way offensively for the Bulldogs last week was Corey Locke who scored two goals and added two assists in the two wins. Duncan Milroy also chipped in with three points. Goalie Dan Ellis earned both wins in net for the Bulldogs and now has a three-game winning streak to his credit.
Friday's game saw the Bulldogs shutout the visiting Cleveland Barons, 2-0, in front of over 5,600 at Copps Coliseum. As Duncan Milroy opened the scoring in the first period more than 3,500 stuffed animals showered the ice for the Bulldogs' seventh annual stuffed animal toss.
On Saturday, Chris Higgins scored with less than a minute left to tie the game and force overtime and the Bulldogs won, by way of a shootout, on goals by rookies Andrei Kostitsyn and Corey Locke.
The Bulldogs will now embark on a four-game road trip and will kick it off with games on Friday and Saturday evening in Manitoba. Game times are 7:30pm (8:30EST).
