
Busy Week For Grizzlies Ends With Four Points

Utah Grizzlies News Release
The Utah Grizzlies went 2-3 splitting a two-game home series with Rochester and a two-game road series in San Antonio and dropping a 5-3 decision in Chicago on Sunday afternoon. Utah led 1-0 after one period on Monday night versus the Amerks after Peter White scored his first goal of the season for Utah but Rochester responded scoring three straight goals en route to a 3-2 victory. On Wednesday night, the Grizzlies headed to a shootout for the fifth time this year and for the third time came away with the victory giving goaltender Jean-Marc Pelletier his first victory of the season (he made a season-high 44 saves). Jarrod Skalde led the way fro Utah with a goal and an assist. Utah struggled in San Antonio the next night getting blanked for the second straight time to Patrick DesRoachers of the Rampage, 5-0. The Grizzlies bounced back the next night with a 3-2 victory with Jeff Taffe scoring the game-winning goal with an assist. On Sunday, the Grizzlies ended the week with a 5-3 loss to Chicago. The Wolves jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Utah closed the gap to 4-3 before Ben Simon pushed the lead back to two goals.

Divisional Match-Ups Are a Key:
~The Grizzlies are in a stretch where they'll play eight straight divisional game thus far posting a record of 1-2 through three games. The Grizzlies will take on the teams tied atop the Western Division, Grand Rapids and Milwaukee, over the next four games and will finish the stretch with a home game against San Antonio on Dec. 22. Thus far this season, the Grizzlies are 4-12-0-1 versus the West.
The "SHOH" Stopper Catches Fire in December:
~Fredrik Sjostrom has been the hottest Grizzly as of late gaining points seemingly every night. In his first 14 games of the season, the first-year Grizzly had two assists and was a â2 but in his last 11 games he has scored five goals with seven assists and is a +4.
First Place Griffins Fly Into Utah:
~The Grizzlies will play three games this week hosting Grand Rapids in a pair of games and Milwaukee on Saturday. The Griffins and Admirals have been sharing the spotlight in the Western Division this year with both teams tied atop the division with 35 points. Utah lost a 2-1 decision to the Griffins two weeks ago in the only match-up thus far in the 2004-05 campaign. Utah has played Milwaukee four times (three in the âE' Center) and has yet to win a game being outscored by the defending Calder Cup champs 20-8.
