Edmonton Investors Group Offers Christmas Charity Challenge With The Edmonton Road Runners
December 13, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Edmonton Road Runners News Release
It will be âHo Ho Hockey' at Rexall Place this December, as the Edmonton Investors Group lends a helping hand to families in need during the holiday season with the Christmas Charity Challenge.
The Edmonton Investors Group, the owners of the Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Road Runners, wanted to give something back to the community this holiday season. Local hockey fans have been incredibly supportive of the Oilers organization during the NHL labor dispute, and have also warmly welcomed the Edmonton Road Runners to the City of Champions during the interim.
In recognition of their patience and support, the Edmonton Investors Group has purchased all remaining seats in Rexall Place for the Monday, December 20th, Edmonton Road Runners game at full price, and will be making them available to the community for only $4 per seat, while they last. Best of all, proceeds from the sale of these tickets will be split evenly between the Christmas Bureau and Santa's Anonymous.
"We wanted to make this a Merry Christmas for everyone in our community," said Cal Nichols, Chairman of the Edmonton Investors Group. "The Christmas Charity Challenge gives us an opportunity to support two great charities â the Christmas Bureau and Santa's Anonymous â while treating families to an exciting Road Runners game. We challenge all hockey fans to get involved and to help out."
"We're hoping to make a real impact for two great charities on December 20th," added Stew MacDonald, President of the Edmonton Road Runners. "The more people we put in seats, the bigger the cheque we get to write. So gather your family, friends and co-workers, and come watch the Road Runners on December 20th."
Tickets for the Christmas Charity Challenge go on sale at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 13th, at all Ticketmaster ticket outlets, or by calling 414-GOAL (414-4625). Every remaining ticket in Rexall Place will be sold for $4, with service charges waived by Ticketmaster in support of the Christmas Bureau and Santa's Anonymous.
