
Bruins coming off seven point week

Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins begin the week tied for third place in the Atlantic Division with the Worcester IceCats, with their 13-10-2-3 record (31 points). Head coach Scott Gordon's club is coming off a four-game week in which the team went 3-0-0-1, capturing seven of a possible eight points. The week's action included the first shootout win in franchise history, a wild 5-4 victory at Albany, as well as a dramatic 3-2 win over their arch division rivals, the Hartford Wolf Pack. The Providence power play unit has continued its clutch performances, remaining second in the AHL, clicking at a 21.4% success rate.
Three Bruin forwards continued their scoring last week, and begin this week tied for the team scoring lead, and for 10th in overall league scoring. Left wing Andy Hilbert (13-14-27) had 2-2-4 totals last week, as well as what proved to be the winning goal in Wednesday's shootout in Albany. Center Brad Boyes (12-15-27) scored two goals in the Bruins' 3-2 win over Binghamton on Sunday. Center Patrice Bergeron (10-15-27) had 1-2-3 totals last week, his last action before leaving to join the Canadian National Team for the upcoming World Junior Championships. Bergeron will return to the Bruins at the conclusion of Canada's run in the tournament. The Gold Medal game will be played on January 5.
The Bruins will play three games this week, one on home ice. The action begins on Wednesday, December 15 at 7:05 p.m., when the Bruins visit the Hartford Wolf Pack. They return home to host the Springfield Falcons on Friday, December 17 at 7:05 p.m., before visiting Hartford again the next night at 7:05 p.m.
Friday will be Dunkin' Donuts Holiday Ornament Night, with the first 8,000 fans in attendance receiving a free Dunkin' Donuts ornament. Friday will also mark the conclusion of the Bruins' Toys for Tots drive. Bruins wives and girlfriends will be collecting unopened toys in the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office lobby from 5:45 to 7:00 p.m. All toys collected will be donated to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.
Bruin fans looking for holiday gift ideas have plenty of options available to them. Fans purchasing a book of 10 FlexTix will also receive a free Providence Bruins hat. In addition, Providence Bruins game-worn jerseys are available for sale on the team website, www.providencebruis.com. The Bruins also have plenty of merchandise available, ranging from replica jerseys to t-shirts and sweatshirts to hats. Special Providence Bruins Pro Shop holiday hours are attached.
"Providence Bruins Weekly Presented by National City Mortgage" returns on Tuesday, December 14 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on WSKO AM-790, The Score. Show host Adam Alper will have regular guests Scott Gordon and Providence Journal beat writer Joe McDonald, as well as Bruin winger Andy Hilbert, on the show.
