
Moran Continues to Climb Franchise All-Time Charts

Center Brad Moran moved into sole possession of third place on the Crunch's all-time goals list Friday night, scoring two times against Binghamton in the Crunch's 4-3 overtime loss. Moran enters this week with 78 career Syracuse goals, four behind Reggie Savage (82) for second all-time and 26 behind Lonny Bohonos (104) for the franchise lead. A native of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Moran has appeared in 25 games with the Crunch recording 6 goals, 9 assists and 12 penalty minutes. Originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 7th round, 191st overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Moran has appeared in five NHL games with Columbus, recording one goal, one assist and two penalty minutes.
JOHNSON REGAINING FORM: Second-year defenseman Aaron Johnson enters this week having recorded a point in four of his last six games (1g, 4a). His eight points this season rank second to Andre Lakos' nine, among Crunch defensemen. A native of Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, Johnson has appeared in 72 career AHL games with Syracuse, tallying 8 goals, 21 assists and 111 penalty minutes. Drafted by Columbus with their fourth pick, 85th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Johnson appeared in 29 games with the Blue Jackets as a rookie last season, recording 2 goals, 6 assists and 32 penalty minutes. Johnson was the Crunch's lone representative at the 2004 AHL All-Star Classic in Grand Rapids, netting two goals in the Canadian Teams' 9-5 victory over PlanetUSA.
PENNER REASSIGNED TO DAYTON: The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned goaltender Andrew Penner to Dayton (ECHL). Penner, 21, appeared in 13 games with Dayton this season, posting a 6-7-0 record, a 3.36 goals against average and a .897 save percentage. Penner served as back-up to Karl Goehring three times during the 2003-04 and 2004-05 season, but has yet to appear in an AHL game. A native of Scarborough, Ontario, Penner was signed as a free agent by Columbus on September 17, 2001.
THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS:
WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON (PITTSBURGH PENGUINS): The Crunch host Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday, December 17 for the third of eight regular season meetings. The series is tied at one, after Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defeated Syracuse 3-2 at the War Memorial at Oncenter on November 26. Right wing Michel Ouellet leads all players in head-to-head scoring with five points (2g, 3a). Center Alexander Svitov leads all Crunch players in head-to-head scoring with two points (1g, 1a). Pascal Leclaire appeared in both games for Syracuse, with a 2.90 goals against average and .913 save percentage. Marc-Andre Fleury (20 saves) and Andy Chiodo (23 saves) have split time in net for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Lifetime Syracuse is 25-17-6 against the Penguins.
ROCHESTER (BUFFALO SABRES): Rochester visits Syracuse on Saturday, December 18 for the fourth of 12 regular season meetings. Rochester leads the series 2-1, after defeating Syracuse 4-2 at the War Memorial at Oncenter on November 13. Center Derek Roy (1g, 4a) leads all players with five points. Left wing Mike Pandolfo leads all Crunch players with four points (2g, 2a). Pascal Leclaire has appeared in two games for Syracuse, posting a 1-0-1 record, a 1.44 goals against average and a .959 save percentage. Ryan Miller has appeared in all three games for Rochester with a 2-1-3 record, a 1.96 goals against average and a .943 save percentage. Lifetime, the Crunch are 43-59-13 against the Amerks.
HERSEY (COLORADO AVALANCHE): The Crunch travel to Hershey on Friday, December 19 for the second of four regular season meetings. Hershey leads the series 1-0, after defeating the Crunch 1-0 in a shootout on October 29 at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Pascal Leclaire appeared in net for Syracuse, recording 21 saves. Peter Budaj appeared in net for Hershey recording 35 saves. Lifetime Syracuse is 22-32-11 against the Bears.

Crunch To Hold First-Ever DestiNY USA Teddy Bear Toss -- Crunch to Give-Away $1,000 Gift Certificate to Carousel Center on December 18: The Syracuse Crunch, DestiNY USA and UPN 6 announced that they will host the first-ever DestiNY USA Teddy Bear Toss on December 18, with all collected stuffed animals going to benefit the Marines Toys for Tots program.
For each new or gently used stuff animal a fan brings to the War Memorial at Oncenter now through the start of the Crunch's December 18 home game, they will receive a raffle ticket, giving them a chance to win a $1,000 gift certificate to Carousel Center, compliments of DestiNY USA.
The raffle drawing for the $1,000 gift certificate to Carousel Center will be held during the second period of the Crunch's December 18 game. The winner must be present at the game to win the gift certificate.
Drop off locations during the December 4, December 10, December 11 and December 17 games will be located at the State Street and Montgomery Street entrances until 7:30 p.m. After the games have begun, fans can drop off their stuffed animals at the Advance Auto Parts Guest Service Center, located on the second floor of the War Memorial. Fans bringing stuffed animals to the December 18 game to toss onto the ice can pick up their raffle tickets at the State Street or Montgomery Street entrances, prior to entering the game. No raffle tickets will be given out once fans have gained entry into the game.
During the first intermission of the December 18 game the Crunch will ask all fans in attendance to âtoss' their new or gently used stuffed animals onto the ice. All collected stuffed animals will benefit the Marines Toys for Tots program.
In addition, any fan that brings a stuffed animal in will have the opportunity to purchase a ticket to the December 18 game for $10 (up to an $8 savings). No phone orders will be accepted â must purchase tickets in person to receive the discount.

Labatt's Celebrity Bartending at Change of Pace: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Labatt's, announced that the Labatt's Celebrity Bartending series will continue on Wednesday, December 15 at Change of Pace. Crunch players Zenith Komarniski, Jeremy Reich and Mike Pandolfo will serve as celebrity bartenders at Change of Pace from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15. Change of Pace is located on 1802 Grant Blvd. in Syracuse. For directions call (315) 472-4409. All tip generated by the players that night will be donated to the Onondaga Youth Hockey Association.
INJURY UPDATE: Goaltender Pascal Leclaire is listed as day-to-day with a groin injury. He has missed four games with the injury... Through 25 games this season, Syracuse has lost 28 man-games due to injuries. Jeff Panzer â 8, Greg Mauldin - 6, Pascal Leclaire â 4, Mark Hartigan â 3, Zenith Komarniski â 3, Raffaele Sannitz â 2, Francois Beauchemin - 1 and Aaron Johnson - 1, represent the Crunch's injury list this season.

Left wing Greg Mauldin recorded his first multiple goal game on Saturday night against Milwaukee, scoring his third and fourth goal of the season in the Crunch's 3-2 defeat... Right wing Brandon Sugden moved into sole possession of sixth place on the Crunch's all-time penalty minutes list on Saturday night, recording his 407th penalty minute. He is currently 62 minutes behind Larry Courville (469) for fifth place.
