The Wolf Pack start the week just six points out of first place after taking six of a possible eight points in last week's play. The Pack improved its home record to 12-2-0-1 and have won three straight at home. Jason LaBarbera and Steve Valiquette remain atop the league with the best goals against averages at 1.48 and 1.50 respectively, while the Pack's penalty-killing is once again tops in the league this week at 91.55%.

This week:

A replay of last week when it comes to games and community work for the Pack this week. The team will participate in a number of seasonal activities on Tuesday, then head into a grueling four games in five nights before getting a well-deserved Christmas break starting December 20.

Tuesday, December 14 - Holiday Cheer & Congratulations
* Jozef Balej, Jason LaBarbera, Chad Wiseman, Lawrence Nycholat and Craig Weller will deliver hundreds of gifts, purchased by Wolf Pack players, staff and fans, to the WTIC-AM Holiday Store in Glastonbury in support of the Salvation Army's 'Angel Tree' program. The Wolf Pack have been participating in this program for three years. The players will drop off the gifts at 3:00 p.m. at the Holiday Store at Somerset Square in Glastonbury - a great photo opportunity as the team unloads a truck full of presents at the store.
* Dominic Moore will congratulate children at H. B. Stowe and Prudence Randall schools in Enfield at 1:30 p.m. and 2:10 p.m. respectively for their participation in the Wolf Pack Reading Program. Moore will present a trophy to the top reader at each school.
* Jed Ortmeyer, Trevor Gillies, Garth Murray and Dwight Helminen will take part in the Kidney Foundation's annual "Kids Need Christmas" party from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Tuesday, December 14 - "Pack Talk" at Little Mark's Big Barbecue on ESPN Radio 1410

This week's scheduled guests Jeff Hamilton and Steve Valiquette will join the voice of the Wolf Pack, Bob Crawford, at Little Mark's Big Barbecue, 279 West Main Street (Route 44) in Avon from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Fans are invited to come down to Little Mark's to participate live, or to listen in on ESPN Radio 1410.

Wednesday, December 15 vs. Providence - Hartford Civic Center, 7:05 p.m.
* The Pack are 2-2-0-0 against Providence this year, suffering a 3-2 loss to the Bruins last Friday in Providence ... the Bruins are currently tied for third in the Atlantic Division with a record of 13-10-2-3 ... they've won only four games on the road this year (4-8-0-3)
* The Wolf Pack's Secret Santa promotion continues, with lucky fans getting a visit from Santa along with some special Wolf Pack presents
* Post-game, Martin Grenier and Lucas Lawson are scheduled to sign autographs.

Thursday, December 16 - Acoustic Café -Volume IV CD Autograph Signing, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The 96.5 TIC Acoustic Café -Volume IV CD makes a wonderful holiday gift. Layne Ulmer and Lucas Lawson are scheduled to sign autographs at the Manchester Big Y from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. The CD is just $9.65, with proceeds going to the Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation.

Friday, December 17 versus Portland - Hartford Civic Center, 7:05 p.m.
* Portland is currently in sixth place in the Atlantic Division with a 10-11-3-2 record. The team has given up an average of 3.35 goals per game (third most in the league) ... the club has not won a road game in their last seven starts.
* The Wolf Pack are 1-1-0-0 against the Pirates, their last game a 3-2 overtime loss in Portland
* It's Guida's Family Value Night - a family of four can purchase a package for as low as $44 and receive tickets to the game, refreshments and a Wolf Pack souvenir ... call 548-2000 for more information

* The Bruins are back on Saturday for a rematch ... the Wolf Pack penalty-killers will be put to the test by Brad Boyes who has eight powerplay goals ... current high-scorers for the Pack against Providence are Dominic Moore (2-3-5) and Bryce Lampman (0-4-4) ...Hartford has held Andy Hilbert and Patrice Bergeron to three points each as the high-scorers for the Bruins versus the Pack
* The club hosts its annual "Get A Gift" Night with special concert guests "Bowling for Soup", brought to you by People's Bank and WTIC-FM. All fans in attendance will receive a gift from the team and the band will perform pre-game and during intermissions. Kids can also meet Angelica of the Rugrats, courtesy of Comcast.

Sunday, December 19 at Portland - Cumberland County Civic Center, 4:05 p.m.
* The Pack face the Pirates for the second time this week. Last time the Wolf Pack were in Portland, they lost 3-2 in overtime. The Pirates have an 8-6-0-1 record at home.
* As of today, Ryan Hollweg leads point-getters for the Pack against Portland with two goals and one assist, while Chad Wiseman and Jozef Balej each have two helpers ... Jakub Klepis of the Pirates has two goals versus the Wolf Pack including the overtime game-winner from the November 19 game

The team will be off from December 20 to the 26th, when they will head to Bridgeport for a Boxing Day match-up.

January 1, the team will host a concert with Aaron Carter and special guest Fan 3. The concert is sponsored by Radio Disney. January 15 is the date of this season's scout sleepover ... baseball caps will be given away to everyone in attendance at the game courtesy of Match-Up Promotions.
